Highly recommend skipping over this place. The experience with King + Curated in Beacon NY was unfortunately an unpleasant one. At multiple points throughout the process of making our engagement band they failed to clearly and warmly communicate their process with us. They made many assumptions and blamed us several times for us not understanding certain terminology in hastily written emails to us. For starters we left our first meeting without a signed copy of the contract (we had to request it in an email).
Sadly, we have been left with the feeling that a very important object of ours was not handled with care and that we were not given respectful customer service. Designing this ring was a big decision with a lot of emotions around it (it was being reset from a family heirloom) and there is a level of care and professionalism that we feel we just did not receive. We truly wanted to support a local business and unfortunately we were left feeling like warmth, customer service, and professionalism were lacking.
We ultimately didn’t want this experience to effect the joyful moment of seeing our ring for the first time in person - so when we picked up the piece we graciously thanked them and waited a week to carefully communicate our feedback. It took them over a month to respond to our email. After ghosting us - we checked back in again in hopes for a final response (or an apology?) but were only faced with a message that asked to schedule a call. Which we did. It took nearly 10 minutes on the phone to even get an actual apology, which was only half heartedly given for the first time when I brought up the fact that we had hoped they were calling to give us one.
They continue to believe that they’ve done everything right and claim that we “threatened a bad review” if we didn’t get our money back for another unfinished project we had already paid a deposit for. Which is sadly untrue. We no longer wanted to continue to work with them so we asked if they’d be amenable to a refund for that unmade piece - they said no. So we ate the cost and moved on. Look at their response to Elizabeth’s previous one star review - instead of a brief and genuine apology Lauren and Todd write an essay explaining away every point. That speaks volumes. I would recommend trusting someone else with your precious...
Read moreWorking with King and Curated was hands down the WORST customer service experience I have ever had!! I gave them a very precious family heirloom to make into a new engagement ring. I wanted to support a small local business and wanted the experience to feel special. It was anything but! Lauren lacked warmth and care. There were a number of points of miscommunication. When I expressed those points, there was no apology ever. All of Lauren’s email responses were defensive, unprofessional, and put blame on us, the clients, instead of her taking any accountability. I sent a long email with very clear points highlighting our exact feelings. To make things worse, We then got NO RESPONSE for ONE MONTH!! We had to reach back out again and ask if we could expect a response… how embarrassing for them! Again NO APOLOGY for taking so long to respond but just a cold response to schedule a phone call. So we got on the phone with Lauren and Todd. They showed up with big egos and continued to refuse to take any responsibility for very clear and simple examples of miscommunication. We gave bullet points and even quoted them, and they still refused. All we wanted was for them to attempt to understand our feelings as customers and they were incapable. We had to literally ask them for apologies multiple times and it was like pulling teeth. They continued to place blame back on us! They argued with such a lack of maturity and professionalism. Furthermore, they refused to give us a refund even though we are not completing the project with them. I regret signing any contract, but there’s no way I would’ve imagined we would be treated this way. As a business owner myself, if I had a client response like this I would go above and beyond to apologize profusely and quickly, give a refund, and even offer to make it right going forward. But unfortunately that level of customer service is completely lost on Lauren and Todd. It is so rare for me to write a bad review about any business, but this experience has been so astoundingly awful! I want people to know how we were treated so they can avoid having a similar experience. Beacon is a small community and we have also told a lot of local friends. Do NOT give King and Curated your business! They are rude and clueless about customer service....
Read moreI LOVE my chain!! It’s so pretty to wear! It adds something to an everyday outfit or even goes great with other necklaces I already have. My favorite part is the QUALITY! It’s made superbly! You can just feel how much live and effort was out into this handmade choker the minute you take it out of the box. Not to mention the delectable authentic piece of caramel candy that comes with it, YUM! Here’s the the thing, you get what you pay for right? I’ve always been the kinda girl ghat loves a good deal, but doesn’t wanna “break the bank” or over spend on something. For my first Mother’s Day my husband got me a cute chain that I found out later he spent a good deal of money on, only for me to later have to return it twice bc the chains clasp continued to break. The quality was awful. This is something that bothered me deeply, bc of social media and how things blow up these days, men and women are buying “stuff” that isn’t always what it claims to be. That’s is why a review on a product is SO important. Especially for small businesses that don’t have that nationwide exposure. Truth is, this chain, besides my engagement ring and wedding band, is now one of the most amazing and quality pieces of jewelry I own. King and Curated is def a company I will buy from again and I encourage you to check it out as well. Tell your husbands, tell your friends. It’s awesome and it’s makes my day to have something special of my own, especially something that hold quality, beauty and can be such a bold statement so...
