Gadget Repair Pro (Fennec Fox Tech Repair) — Local services in City of Ithaca

I spilled water on my computer last week and the damage burnt a hole straight through my laptop's motherboard. The computer wouldn't turn on and I honestly didn't think this could be fixed - a lot of people were telling me to prepare for the worst. I don't have apple care on the laptop, and even if I did there were some valuable things on my hard drive that I didn't want to lose. I took it here and they gave me prices on what would happen if they fix it (this much to retrieve information from the hard drive, this much if we have to repair parts, this much if you want to replace the mouse and keyboard). Very upfront (also, they have a great no-fix no cost policy, so it can never hurt to come here to get something checked out). My laptop is now fixed! Jamal apparently had to replace some parts on the motherboard, cut the cord to the trackpad, and solder some other things, but the computer works just like it did before. This is how a computer business should be. The men who work there were professional knowledgeable and fixed a problem that was holding me back IN SHOP with 15 minutes. While other computer repair places told me they would have to ship it out and charge me almost 100$ with no guarantees it would be fixed and it would be a minimum of 1-3 weeks til I get my laptop back. I will recommend all my friends and colleagues to Fennec Fox repair, these guys are life savers as I was working on time sensitive projects. They only charged me 40$ and I happily left a tip for them being so good to me while other places in Ithaca were not nearly as professional or helpful. Do not waste your time with anywhere else with computer repair in Ithaca. This is the only place I will take my laptop or phone from now on when in Ithaca. Thanks...

DO NOT GO FOR REPAIRS

I had one of the worst customer experiences of my life here. I brought my phone that had a cracked screen for repair. They fixed it, but my phone screen was cracked again a few days later. The job was done poorly; I didn't drop it or anything, just normal use. I returned to the shop explaining the situation and asking for a refund but the shopkeeper gave me a really hard time - even accusing me of extorting him. I was talked to as if I was stealing from him - it was incredibly rude and unprofessional.
