HIWay HIFi — Local services in City of Ithaca

These days it is so hard to find businesses that truly focus on customer service, quality and integrity (my number 1 criteria). They (Chase's father and others) have obviously been doing this for years but I only recently became aware of them. Chase is very knowledgeable on car audio. He gave me a single quote upfront that was very competitive (and eliminated the need for negotiating). Chase either handled all the questions and special requests personally or had me interact directly with the installers in the shop (who also demonstrated professionalism and expertise.). HiWay HiFi also has one of the best mobile soundboards and listening rooms in the area (and I live an hour away). I spent several hours on and off listening to my own music on a wide range of speakers, amps and head units. I was not pushed or pressured to hurry up or go towards any particular brand. I was somewhat surprised and very pleased at how close the listening experience was between the final installed system and my car. A previous experience with a mobile audio purchase at another shop did not offer this listening experience before installation and I was not as fortunate with the final sound. My only disappointment was in the receivers analog FM radio performance but Chase and the HiWay HiFi team effectively addressed this with an amplified antenna solution. I don't usually take the opportunity to provide reviews but I was SO VERY pleased with a shop like this that treated me like a real customer, offered a nice mix of product and levels, offered the quality sound room, and then followed through with every request. This is my newly discovered and favorite HiFi shop...

Experienced, skilled people! I thought the customer service at HiWay HiFi was excellent. I got both a realistic quote and immediate attention. My issue is that I am very sensitive to Bluetooth and my Honda 2015 CRV did not have a plug in wire option, only Bluetooth, and I don't have an IPhone that does work. IPod was supposed to work. There is even an icon for it on the console, but it did not. So, I consulted with Lee about what options I might have for installing a device in which I could plug my Samsung Note 3 and listen to my Audible books. I waited a week or so for an appointment and the installation was done in record time. The device is built in to what was a clear spot near the cup holders, connects to the radio, and then they added a switch to a dummy spot on the left side of the car a foot or so from the dashboard so I can listen to the radio without interference if I'd like. The job was done in record time a bit under the estimate. Not only does the device work like a charm, but it also allows me to talk on my phone over the radio, much clearer than Bluetooth, something even HiWay HiFi didn't think...

May 2020 Big thanks to the team at HiWay HiFi for the seamless Drone Mobile install on my 2020 RAV4. The setup looks completely stock, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Cheers!

Full sound system upgrade (Alpine Halo11, Sony 2-way fronts, Kicker coaxials for the middle and rear, and dual 8" JL subs)

And of course, another flawless Drone Mobile install
