Hi Everyone! My daughter at this moment is still a student with the KCS District. She would have been in her sophomore year had I let her return. Over the last eleven years of her attending KCSD I have lost trust for this school. I am writing this review mainly because I have not been herd and my daughter has been push aside. My daughter start KCSD back in 2011 with an IEP because of her disabilities she changed many schools with in the District. All through elementary school no matter what school she went to she love being in school. Music has always and forever been her favorite. When my daughter was in the second grade it was at that time the KCSD chairwomen Barbara M made the decision to mark my daughter as ungraded. At that time know one educated me on what happens to kids that are ungraded. I asked at that time and was told I just means that they don't have to take tests. At no time did they tell me it me she does not get to graduate. So my daughter did fine all through out elementary school being bounce from school to school were ever her program was. A elementary school she attended her first two years of middle school in Miller now mind you she had been doing chorus for almost two year prior to entering Miller. First week of school my daughter came home with some really colorful language and telling my she hates school. On back to school night which was the first night I had met her teacher. She used the word baby in reference to the kids I was completely offended. I had at that time questioned as to why my daughter who loved school so much now hates it. The teach reply every time with it just a new school. After two yrs at miller she then went to bailey. The only thing that didn't change was one teacher. When the pandemic broke out and she was doing remote learning my daughter finally opened up to me. She was told that having a disability means that you are bad. When she turned in a few righting assignments she was ask multiple time who wrote this paper. My daughter told the teacher that she wrote the paper. The teacher called her a liar on multiple occasions. The only reason that I know that there is truth to what my daughter is saying is because during remote learning my daughter received and email from her teacher after a writing assignment. The teacher said to my daugther lets should mom and dad that you are a big girl can do this on your own, to which my daughter showed me what the teacher wrote to her and I responded in an email stating that ( my daughter wrote that herself). My daughter because of her disability was pushed aside. I trusted an educator for almost 4 yrs and she verbally abused my child so much I can't say the words liar and disabilities around her. During her freshman yr of KHS while the kids were still doing remote learning I also listened to another teacher mock a student because of the way they talk. This year annual meeting the chair person apologized and say that sometimes a student falls through the crackes This yr they decided to do away with virtual learning. What is right for one student might not be right for another. While online learning might not work for some, It works well for others. After what my daughter has been through the only way she will be educated is online so I know she is not being abused verbally or emotionally. If you send an email to the super intendent of the school do plan on getting a phone call back . I do not recommend enrolling your child in KCSD if you have a child with a disability. Please don't send your child to this school district.

Read moreMy child is completely blind and up until two years ago I would have said this is a great place to come for equal opportunity and the best education. However, they have been the absolute worse to my baby girl and her circumstances. I wouldn't recommend anyone with a visual impairment, anyone of color or anyone with any type of complex situation come to the Kingston city school district to seek help and understanding. I tried not to give any stars but I couldn't post if I didn't rate with...
