I really wanted to like this but every step of the meal had something wrong. TLDR is that food was very good but the kitchen has serious management problems and service does not know how to overcome. Too many managers walking the floor so no one actually does anything.
Notable shout out to Dylan- a new bus boy who is trying to solve problems.
Made a reservation for a Friday night for my wife's birthday (made that note on reservation butit was never acknowledged.) We arrive on time and are told it will be 20 minutes and are sent to the bar. The restaurant was not full but overhead the hostess say "there are 18 open menus and the kitchen is going to get slammed." We ordered 2 cocktails and had to closeout before going to our table 20 minutes later.
We're sat and after 10 mins are greeted and take drink orders. My wife got a second Joan Collins (house cocktail). Another 5 and the aforementioned Dylan notices our table is wobbly and fixes it.
Another 10 go by and we get drinks and order food. We decide on buccatini, sea breem with shrimp, and a side of brussel sprouts.
Now we wait.
40 minutes and no food. We're getting hungry. 2 cocktails is making my wife very hungry. Also should note that the 2 cocktails were made differently and tasted different despite being the same drink! They tasted fine but no consistency.
So after 40 minutes we ask for bread- maybe its an a'la carte item? Nope- Dylan tells us it just comes. So we never got bread until we do.
Finally food comes after close to an hour. Its tasty but has mistakes. The buccatini cacio pepe seemed a little watery. Sea breem was supposed to have shrimp but I didn't see any. We're too hungry to care. However- we order brussel sprouts and got broccolini. The staff apologized and will bring out the right item.
20 minutes and no sprouts. We ate our meals...not in the mood for brussel sprouts dessert. We ask to send it back but the staff says they'll wrap it to go and take it off the bill. Dylan again solves the problem.
For what its worth- they're great left over.
Finally order two desserts and two coffees. The chocolate dome- very good if less delicate than we anticipated- and almond cake with blueberry compote on the side. That cake came swimming in blueberries and had to also be sent back for replacement.
The cake itself is delicious but we didn't get coffee until 10 mins after dessert served. More annoying.
Finally- got the bill and brussel sprouts still on it. One final correction needed to ge done.
I'm going to chalk this up to more back of the house problems then front. However- despite the beautiful location, the lack of attention to detail makes it hard...
Read moreHow does this place have a Michelin recommendation? 8am on a Monday morning you just opened no staff to be found. The front desk for the Inn had to seat everyone waiting. Out of the fresh daily pastries. I guess they are not that fresh. Waiter shows up 15 minutes after they opened. You could hear the front desk telling the chef “he will be walking through the door any minute” Shirt was untucked looking very unprofessional. Clearly rushed. Didn’t bother greeting us or introducing himself. Just walked up and asked if we wanted any drinks. I said water he turned around and walked away. There are two people at our table who needed drink orders.
Menu is small, omelet came out broken open, over cooked and with cheap American cheese (menu didn’t say they are using processed crap cheese in the food). No choice of type of toast we wanted. My meal came with two quarter slices of toast, my wife’s came with 4 half slices. The menus made no mention of this not sure I got what I was paying for.
Ordered blue berry muffin, it’s looked oddly like any mass produced frozen muffin you can buy at any wholesale store. Not impressed, outside was warm to the touch inside was cold. Clearly reheated. This chef should be ashamed of serving such crap!
Tip do not order the $4 coffee. Walk around the corner and get the same coffee for free at the front desk.
It is clear from a business standpoint this place is hurting financially and they are stating to cut cost. Not having staff show up early to prep and get ready, one waiter for 5 tables, had to go find him to get my check. Cheap ingredients and out of so called fresh items.
Not worth the hype the bagel place in town was much better and had freshly made muffins.
The best part was the large flies in the windows watching us eat and seeing the dead bugs on the...
Read moreI thought a long time before posting this but i think it’s worth it giving an accurate image to others. The food was mediocre, the atmosphere like a Ashely furniture home store with young children screaming but all that wouldn’t even have been that bad if it wasn’t for how rude, inconsiderate, and judgmental Kaylee was. I was baffled at how much she went out of her way to be rude. I felt like she thought to herself “let’s place the cripple at the seat with the most foot traffic and in the lesser room at the worst table next to “lower quality clientele” aka clients with leopard prints and hoodies loudly yapping about some clubbing dresses” as she smirked at us while eying me up and down. When we arrived almost no table was taken… she could have seated us anywhere. I was uncomfortable all night trying to squeeze my broken foot under the table so waiters and guests won’t trip on it. We dressed nice and wanted to celebrate my husband’s special day but we felt financially taken advantage of. Throughout the night she kept pulling subtle stunts. She would also go in a corner to gossip with another co-worker while all other employees were hurrying service since they were understaffed that day (our dinner took 3+ hours). Why pay for a mediocre 3 course meal and be treated poorly at a former Michelin restaurant? Our waiter Tommy was wonderful. We still tipped well and hope our tip was given to him and not split. There was another woman who I didn’t catch the name of who was wonderful as well even though we only interacted with her over water and bread. The valet staff was also friendly, quick, and professional. We were considering choosing the Inn as a location for our second wedding celebration (the one with our international family and friends) but that’s a...
