So I’m a strong believer of giving reviews bad or good and people definitely need to read this one! I booked a double party for my two boys, online, put deposit down and didn’t need to pay the rest until the day of the party! I was in contact with the owners the night before to arrange being there early for decorations and set up! The gentleman was there and 10 min before the time scheduled but so was I! He walked in, opened up the place and five minutes later we were able to bring everything in! He kept the doors locked letting only immediate family in first to set up. We got set up, a line started outside and he said when I was ready, he would let them in according to the guest list! Before letting guests in, I had numerous employees with me, one for drinks and pizza, one for music and dj, one for decorations, one for skates, their service as a team was absolutely phenomenal! Guests started coming in, grabbed skates and immediately headed to the floor! I opted for the private party so it was not crowded at all, only the guests on my list plus a few add ons! They say they are under remodel but can I tell you how many guests were complimenting how clean the establishment was!? If you walk in, u could never tell there was remodeling. No dust or dirt any where! Bathrooms spotless, no carpeting so less allergens! They asked me if I wanted to add in some games for the kids and I absolutely did! Every one had the most fun with ghostbusters and dead bug, ouch haha! Countless laughs! We had guests from 4 years old skating up to 40 yrs old and all had a blast! My boys were presented with birthday shirts and glowing necklaces from the staff. The dj had called all the kids to the middle of the floor to get a group photo! For the last half hour, there was something called the sock bop I believe it is! Where the kids sang and dance to popular songs with no skates only socks! When the party was over I had asked how long we had to clean up and they had open skating in 30 min so we cleaned up the tables and brought the gifts and food outside but by the time we did that, the employees already had the spilled drinks cleaned, dropped cupcakes swept up and by the time I walked out it was ready for open skating with ten to fifteen minutes to spare. The building is secure so no unwanted guests could get in! All in all, these new owners are amazing along with their staff! I have not one complaint even if I looked with fine tooth comb for one! The first time I came to this building, it was skate a while, it was before the new owners. Before, the place was dirty, dusty, staff were so rude we ended up walking out. Huge changes happened and many people, kids and adults said it was the best party they have been to in a long time! I got on skates for the first time in 20 years haha! I could go on and on about how you should book this place for parties but I’ll let you experience it for yourself! This place is also handicap and senior friendly for spectators! They have a counter for guests to order their food and drinks if they want extra as well, out of their own pocket. Thank you to the owners and staff at skate a while longer for a much needed amazing experience! You guys exceeded my expectations! We will see you again soon! Oh and there are also arcade games in the eating area but the kids paid no mind because they were to busy skating their butts off! And there are also skatemates for kids and adults to help steady yourself until you feel comfortable on your own! Thank you...
Read moreI used to come here when I was a kid and wanted to come back and try it out again. Unfortunately I made the decision to go on a Friday night, which I would not recommend unless you have children. I was under the impression that we could skate until 10 pm, however at 9:30 they made everyone return their skates so that people could slide on the skate floor with their socks for the “sock hop”. I asked somebody who worked there what was going on and he happened to be the owner. My confusion about the sock hop was met with defensiveness about it being posted on their website and Facebook. I guess I had read “ 9:30 sock hop” on their website, but it didn’t click that all skaters would be kicked off the rink thirty minutes early so that people could slide with their socks. I also don’t understand why on Friday it’s $2 more expensive to get in but you can’t skate as long. The fact that this is a thing at the only roller skating rink in central New York is a bit ridiculous to me, but maybe it’s just the staff’s slight rudeness that has rubbed me the wrong way. I would recommend being more clear about what the “sock hop” exactly is on...
Read moreFirst let me say it was our first time going here and for a family of 4 to go roller skating for 2 hours was $60 to me thats quite high, but we had a bad experience, my son who is 9 years old was not doing very well skating as I said it was our first time so we grabbed a trainer off the wall and he was doing better, then all of a sudden my kid comes to me tears in his eyes and an employee had the trainer and my kid was told he couldn't have it because we didn't pay for it, we didn't know we had to, even though according to the owner theres a sign which we didnt see because it's dark, so after paying $60 we would've had to pay another $10 for the trainer that's $70 for two hours of roller skating, well i asked for a refund because we were only there for 45 mins and I was quite irritated that the employee never asked to speak to a parent just told my son he couldn't have the trainer and took it and after the owner reviewed the cameras he said his employee did no wrong and didn't try to offer any way to satisfy me an angry mama and first time customer nor did he give me any sort of refund so we left and will not...
