I’d give this place no stars if I could.... professors will brush you off if you seek help from them , most professors will not return emails, and if they do it is usually a very snotty and condescending reply. Most professors don’t show up a lot or just end the class early. They don’t tell you about the center city campus until your enrolled for classes. At the center City campus, in which you may be forced to go to, you have to park in an extremely dangerous and negligent parking garage where I crashed my car into a concrete barrier ,which was left in the middle of the parking garage by the negligent management. in the winter months the roof of the parking garage is never salted so it is extremely dangerous and Icy. Besides the dangerous parking conditions, center City campus is full of rude and careless professors as well. The online class system is awful, I was forced to take a intro to computers class online where the professor did not work at the scc campus and had no work phone number to be reached at, despite asking multiple times for it. The class was very disorganized and was overly difficult and complicated for no reason, the “professor “ running the class wouldn’t answer my emails unless I emailed her multiple times in a row. When I did get a response from this processor, it was usually very condescending and never addressed any of my questions or concerns. Avoid this place at all costs there are many other great community colleges to go to such as Hudson valley and Adirondack...
Read moreSchenectady County Community College is hands down the worst college experience I've ever had. I've dealt in depth with three colleges total in my time, and SCCC is far and away the most disorganized, over priced, and least helpful school out there. I've had professors not show up, I've had many show up late, and some weren't even sure what school they were teaching at. One mixed us up with HVCC! They love to double charge you for fees that they don't keep records of, and make it your problem. Point being, if you plan on going here hoping for a good experience, you won't get one. If you plan on becoming a chef, or professional sound engineer, it's an okay school. Anything else is a waste of money. I can't go lower that 5 stars, but if I...
Read moreIf you are torn between community colleges, pick Adirondack or Hudson Valley. I’ve gone to this school twice, once right after high school and once five years later. They are one of the most disorganized schools I’ve ever seen. The professors don’t show up way too often, the online class system is constantly crashing. When I reapplied to come back again, they waited until after the cut off date to sign up to tell me I’d been accepted. Some of the classes aren’t even taught seriously. This is college and yet we’re watching movies and leaving an hour into a three hour class. It’s not good. Pick anything else. Yes the culinary program is good, but if you’re going for anything else,...
