Ideal Theater Clare — Local services in Clare

Love the fact there is such a nice theater in the town of Clare. The renovation work was well done and I enjoyed seeing the before and after pictures on the screen prior to the movie. The seats are not the big, comfy seats that the larger theaters have but, in my opinion, they were still comfortable. I have two minor complaints... first, if tickets are bought online, you still have to wait in line at concessions for a print out of your ticket, although they do have a separate line for pre-purchase. The concessions area is not a large space so on a busy night it gets very congested. Secondly, after the film started and was showing the typical pre-movie ads, someone from the staff came down in front and said they were stopping the film until everyone could be seated. I have never, in my 64 years, experienced this before. I read in a previous review a customer complaint that the movie wasn't delayed for the people stuck in line waiting. What about all the people that planned accordingly and got there early enough to stand in line, get concessions, and find a seat with time to spare? There was a theater full of people waiting 20 or more minutes for the movie to start after the scheduled showing time, as the late comers continued to arrive. My husband and I would really like to revisit this jewel, but not if this is their standard...

We went to the theater tonight on a date out with my husband, we were pleasantly suprised. First we were greated with a plesant smile. Our order was taken promptly the staff were very efficient like a well oiled machine. When we went into the theater we and noticed right away it was spotless the floors were not sticky no popcorn on the floor. The theater still has that old theater feel but the new updates are very nice. The next thing I noticed. The floor had a plesant grip to it. Normal theater floors are painted and can be slick. You can tell that from the moment you walk through the door there was a lot of thought put into the style and design of the theater from the tip top of the ceiling to the old original clock on the wall to the no slip flooring. I love that they moved the consession to the space that was next door. It is the perfect space. I didn't visit the restrooms but i can only imagine that they must be better than the previous ones before. Kuddos well done! Would not recommend going to a popular family movie here early in its run. The line is slow and there is no way to skip it... even if you bought tickets ahead and don't want snacks. We arrived 10 minutes before show time and got to stand in line forever while people hemmed and hawed about their snacks. They don't delay the start of film for customers stuck waiting, so then you will be obliged to stumble around in the dark while the movie is playing trying to find seats for your family, who will be scattered all over the place. The prices are indeed low, so I guess we got what we paid for. For the price of a ticket, I got hours of enjoyment walking through beautiful downtown Clare waiting for the rest of the family. If your family is of any size at all, just be very early or expect an unpleasant experience. Purchasing tickets ahead is no shield, and you may end up just giving up like I did. Obviously, this is a very situational review, but I hope it does help you...
