First, this Kroger has only been open about a year. 2021 I believe. Most of the reviews I saw as I navigated here were 3 or 4 years old so I guess this monstrosity got to keep the reviews of the store that was here before that was better in every way. Like many places, they are under staffed, not their fault, but it's not great when you combine that with being packed to what I'm pretty sure has been beyond legal fire code capacity. It's been so packed, people ship dripping with sweat because their air conditioning can't keep up. With inflation, many prices have increased, however, This Kroger has marked up items that haven't gone up elsewhere. To me, it feels like an opportunistic cash grab. Their milk smells sour ON THE DATE on the cartoon. Milk I buy at other stores is fine far after the date on the cartoon. I was browsing the chicken breasts, same brand, side by side packages, completely different color. Looks like the dates on things are maxxed out, pushed sometimes a bit far. I seriously question the quality and safety of the products. It's not as if it's in the interest of keeping consumer cost down, must be saving someone else money. Be careful choosing products at this store. The staff is really nice though. I feel bad for them. They are probably over worked being short staffed. Hope some of that artificial inflation is finding it's way into their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWarning: Kroger & Kroger Boost Is Financially Dangerous and Deceptive!! Do not use the Kroger Boost app. I signed up thinking it would help my family save time and money, but instead, it caused serious financial harm. We have no steady income and are caring for three children, and Krogerās deceptive billing practices overdrafted our accounts and disrupted our ability to buy essentials.
They misclassified EBT items, charged my debit card without permission, and then tried to justify it by claiming a $40 store credit I was never informed of. They also adjusted prices more than 24 hours after checkout, inflating totals and rerouting charges to my bank account. This is fraud, plain and simple.
Krogerās customer service was dismissive and dishonest. They did not offer a refund, and instead tried to lie to me about how the charges were applied. Iāve filed complaints with the BBB, Attorney General, and USDA, and I will never shop at Kroger again.
If you value transparency, financial safety, and basic respect, stay far away from Kroger and their Kroger Boost app! A quick Google search will prove they've been recently scamming...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is a very large Krogers and I used to enjoy a wider selection when I had the chance to stop in Clarksburg. Had a terrible experience today and will likely be avoiding this location in the future.
I was done shopping and going to my car when my cart suddenly locked up at the exit. I had no idea what was happening, the cart just would not move. I was now blocking foot traffic.
Apparently the management is so terrified of cart theft, they've applied an anti-theft method that randomly inconveniences the customer. The carts are designed to lock if they leave the property. But sometimes they also just do it at the door.
My cart locked up by an anti-theft system. No one came to assist me. There was a cart boy outside, but he looked like he was trying to ignore me. I had to go get a different cart and transfer my groceries to be able to leave the store.
It was common knowledge to some of the other shoppers so apparently it happens a lot. Yet...nothing is in place to assist customers if their loaded cart locks up at the door? If they hate their customers this much, I'd hate to see how they treat...
