We stopped by the Moonrise Speakeasy on a quiet Sunday afternoon expecting a nice setting and a good cocktail. What we got was pure magic — an unexpected journey back to the spirit of post-Prohibition craftsmanship.

The space itself is stunning: warm, refined, and inviting. But the real star is Doug, who guided us through a masterclass in flavor. His passion, knowledge, and sincerity shine through in every pour.

We enjoyed an incredible Old Fashioned, but the Georgia Manhattan was the best I’ve ever been served — anywhere. Doug signed a bottle for my birthday, making the experience even more memorable.

This is not a bar — it’s 1000% an experience.

We’ve traveled across Kentucky in search of bourbon greatness, and somehow found it right here in Clayton, Georgia, delivered by one of the most genuine and honest men I’ve met. If you value quality over quantity, this is your destination.

We started out with a tour at the Distillery and had such a great time we decided to visit the Speakeasy. Let's just say we had wonderful drinks and conversation that we added an additional day to our vacation just to visit again. Ashton was our bartender the 2nd night. You know when you meet an awesome human and you can just tell they are genuine, kind hearted and just a good person. That was Ashton. I didn't want the night to end, because we enjoyed talking with him. We will definitely be back...if I could give 100 stars I would. Plus the environment...

My girlfriend and I wandered into this speakeasy on our anniversary and had the most wonderful first experience.

Melissa was incredibly personable, easy to talk to, and made two of the best cocktails we’ve ever had - bar none.

The Old Fashioned was as good as they come and the bourbon lemonade is one my girlfriend will surely be wanting to replicate at home.

This place (and Melissa) added so much character and soul to our first trip to Clayton, so much so that our next trip to the town won’t be complete without another trip here.
