Napa South Wine Bar — Restaurant in Clayton

Rarely do my wife and I have a "WOW" experience when going out for a relaxing meal or perhaps visiting with friends at many of the wonderful local venues that Clayton and the surrounding cities have to offer. There are many really nice spots that we throughly enjoy. That being said, our recent visit to Napa South Wine Bar was top shelf from start to finish. Wow! We happened upon this charming wine bar as we were looking for something different to do on our vacation. Tracy was so kind and knowledgeable and the atmosphere was upscale but very welcoming and lively in the best way. We ordered a couple of small plates…the Napa nachos were soooo good! I loved it had a mix of Napa and southern wines all were delicious and the flights are generous! My fiancé is not a wine drinker and enjoyed the selection of craft beers available. It was okay. Staff was very friendly. Atmosphere was fine. However, the wine was too expensive and the selection was very limited. I love red wine, but don't prefer only Cabernet or Pinot. If they served a $10-$15 glass of Rioja or Valpolicella (for example), then also paying $35 for charcuterie might be more friendly on the wallet. Why not have a wider selection with different price points? They might attract...
