I recently came here with a friend to look for magic cards, but also the whole store since I had never been before. While the selection was great, the employees were less than friendly. Both employees at the register helped my friend and I out pretty quickly when it came to purchasing packs. That is where my positive experience ends. My friend wanted to trade in a card he purchased at the register. Employee 1 helped him right away, and my friend got a good value trade for his card, but when I approached the register, employee 1 now tells me I need to speak with employee 2 because it wasn’t something he really knew how to do, which was fine. However, when I got to the second register the employee told me I needed to wait because he was “busy” sorting bulk, and that he would call me when he was ready. I sit down for about 5-10 minutes, and he is chatting away at the register with who I can only assume are his buddies. When I finally get my turn I hand him 2 Pokemon cards (both valued on TCG player for a total of 35$) and I ask for a 30$ card in the case. He looks at the cards and says he’ll take just 1 and hands me my card, no receipt, no valued price, not even a smile. Which I thought was strange, but I figured that my card was worth a little more like 35$ and I got lucky. I was wrong. Before I can even sit down again he has my card that I just traded him in a sleeve for 65$ nowhere near the value of what I received. I understand that stores need to make money off of their trades, but most shops usually give fair prices on cards. Shops don’t scam me for over HALF the card's value. While everything else about the store was cute and I would love to go again I probably won’t due to this interaction. I have never been to a store this...

Read moreColiseum of Comics in the Orlando Fashion Square Mall has been our families go-to spot for comics for awhile. The owner is very nice and very knowledgeable about everything that is in the store. He also supports indie comics, which is an added bonus. Now that we've moved to Lake County, we are lucky to live near this Coliseum of Comics, with the same owner!
The store is very well organized and very clean. Sometimes when I go to a comic book store, I am either ignored by the staff, or I feel like I'm not up to snuff because I am not an all-knowing comic book fan. Not the case here. They are warm and welcoming, but not hovering. The staff will discuss comics and games with you if you like and they will give you recommendations without ever making it seem like a bad thing that you don't know which issue Batman died in, of which various story line, with which artist drawing him. (Okay, I don't know if that ever happened....but I hear people talking about these things, so I'm going with it.) My point is, this is the store for those who love comics, those who like comics, and those who just want to know what all this comic...
