My girlfriend and I went here together for the first time and we enjoyed it, though I do have a one concern; there doesn't seem to be enough breakfast variety to compete with nearby sit down breakfast restaurants, nor enough coffee items to compete with other cafes in the area. This could also be a good thing though, as there could be a happy middle to fill a different niche and for Just Love to be its own thing.
The coffee is excellent, I had the Cha-Cha latte. It was nutty and chocolatey, not too sweet, rich, and foamy.
For brunch I had a breakfast burrito and it certainly wasn't what I expected. For one there wasn't much egg in it, but most notably it's not shaped like a burrito. It's pressed like a panini in a waffle iron and cross sectioned diagonally. That being said it was crunchy on the outside, and flavorful on the inside. Very tasty.
My girlfriend had iced tea and chicken and waffles. I had small bites of all of it and from what I could tell it was all very good. Chicken that actually has batter that tastes like something is extremely welcome, and the waffle is fluffy.
Though we didn't try any they also have soda without high fructose corn syrup, which I find extremely impressive and enticing.
The service was fine, just not fast. I wouldn't recommend this as a quick bite, but more as a good brunch before a date or as a morning rendezvous or meeting location, since the setting is so casual.
I'll definitely be coming back on days off to discover the other interesting brunch items and lattes. If you want something new, I HIGHLY recommend this place. It's black owned, the food is fresh and tasty and unique, and the interior design and...
Read moreCoffee was delicious, but in order to order we stood in line for about 30 minutes. Once we finally were able to order, the lady with the orange hair was very short and rude to us and I ordered the biscuits and gravy. She put in a half order, I could see it on the screen, and I asked whats the difference between half and full size and she said half size is 2 and full is 4 biscuits. The menu didn't mention anything about different size meals so I was actually going to order the full but then she walked away so I couldn't even change my order. So I paid anyways and then proceeded to wait another 30 min for food and coffees. There was a guy next to our table who had been waiting an hour for an online order he had and they just kept telling him "they're still working on it" so we were surprised at that response when he flat out said it's been an hour. They did give him a voucher of some sort at least but wow. Once our food finally came, my biscuits and gravy were not, they were just 2 biscuits and I was told they didn't have gravy. I wish someone would've told me that when I ordered but they were too busy ignoring me when I tried to change my order. My partnerd womeltte was flavorless as well. So we ate the food because we were hungry but both agreed that the coffee was great but we will never be coming back again because of the terrible service and...
Read moreUnfortunately I left feeling pretty underwhelmed today. We ordered the breakfast taco and chicken quesadilla and after taking a few bites we realized the chicken had a terrible texture, super rubbery and chewy. Not appetizing at all, it was obviously a very cheap, processed frozen chicken. I'm not normally a complainer, but this was pretty inedible. I went up to the counter and let the girl know the problem, she was very nice and offered me either remake it, give me a refund or order a substitute. I told her a substitute would be fine since we were still hungry. We asked for breakfast taco, since the other one we ordered was pretty good. However when she brought it out she only gave us 2 tacos, which is not really a substitute since the chicken quesadilla costs $10.25 and the tacos only cost $3.50 each. So I feel like I got gipped out of $3-4 worth of food. I didn't mention this to the girl because at this point I was already feeling frustrated and just wanted to leave. I also ordered a coffee frappe and a smoothie which were both good. But overall I was not impressed by this place and would not...
