My husband, our two boys (2 & 5) and myself went to this particular Home Depot this Friday May 17. Little back story, our brand new house flooded well over a year ago and we have been with cement flooring in our brand new home, and getting our builders to accept responsibility for a huge error on their behalf, has been nothing short of a nightmare.
Finally, after a year of litigation, we are finally able to move forward with replacing the flooring and have a contractor set up for the next day to install the tile. We go into this Home Depot to purchase Life Proof Sierra Wood porcelain tile, as on their website it says that they have 59 boxes and we go their with the intention of purchasing them all. We arrive at their store at 7pm and for an hour we were given the run around, about where the tile is actually located in the store, who we can actually get to help us, who can load the tile in our truck using the forklift, etc.
They apologized saying that since it was “graduation season” they were short staffed, the boy in the flooring department says that he’s only able to locate 46 boxes - so I advise him that we want to purchase them all, I prepay for boxes before they are actually located. Now that it’s 9pm they finally load what appeared to be a full pallet of 38 boxes, that were wrapped and zip tied together, with 8 additional unstrapped boxes on top.
We finally get home and unload the boxes only to conclude that we only have 36 out of 46 boxes, and in a panic I call the store because it is 20 minutes before they close; in hindsight we should have more carefully unwrapped the pallet while we were at the store and counted each box individually, I do accept the responsibility but having spent 2 hours in the store trying to get assistance, trying to locate the boxes with two tired little boys, I just wanted to get home because we still had the task of personally unloading each box out of our truck by ourselves.
In any case, when I returned back to the store, at this point I was visibly and audibly upset because not only have we been through the whirlwind with our flooring already (unrelated to Home Depot), there’s yet another issue to our flooring saga.. I explain what happened to the manager Brett he completely deescalated this situation with finesse and impeccable customer service, he calls another Home Depot and has them set aside the 10 additional boxes that was missing from our order. At this point I am in tears with his understanding and empathy; Brett personally went to the another Home Depot located near the Millenia Mall, and personally delivered all 10 boxes to our home address the next morning.
I honestly cannot gush and empathize my sincere appreciation enough about Brett going well above and beyond for me and my family, his exemplary leadership and compassion in an unfortunate situation, as a result we will forever continue to be loyal customers because of the manager Brett and he should be awarded and be recognized for his amazing dedication to the company that he represents. Thank you...
Read moreMy husband and I recently had an unpleasant experience at a Home Depot store in Clermont, Florida. We were seeking assistance with ordering a door, frame, trim kit and electric lock but the staff members we encountered were unhelpful and seemed disengaged. One employee, upon being approached for assistance, simply pointed us towards a particular aisle without providing further guidance knowing that we were unsure. We had to repeatedly seek his attention to clarify our requirements and make sure we were selecting the correct items. When we indicated that our handyman would be picking up the order, we were assured that the name would be added to the order. However, upon reaching the store on the designated day, we were informed by our handyman that his name was not on the order, despite being confirmed by multiple employees of two different days. Home Depot is calling at 6 AM both my husband and I. The handyman is texting. I spoke to the lady at home Depot she said "you never put a pickup person" I responded YES we did, several times. And she continued to say that I was the one that was supposed to come and pick the order. I responded again no we were not, we told the guy it was the handyman. She said no that's not what it says, it has your name . I said to her well that's your employees fault and she replied to me "NO". When I spoke to my husband about it he said that everything they had told him, was totally incorrect as to how this was supposed to take place with the pickup. The lack of communication and coordination between staff members resulted in unnecessary inconvenience and frustration. I believe that Home Depot should invest in training its employees to provide exceptional customer service, as this is a fundamental aspect of running a successful business. The current level of service falls short of expectations and leaves a negative impression...
Read moreI would give 0 stars if possible. Had a very unpleasant and prejudicial experience here tonight. I came in with my 9 year old son and ESA dog (who is a 6 month old hound, boxer mix) and went straight to the order pickuo area to collect my online order. She is not aggressive at all and does not display aggressive behavior. She is very sweet and loving. She would never hurt anyone or anything. She does, however, bark when strangers randomly reach out at her to pet her. She is still a puppy, and my support animal. As soon as we got to a register, the customer next to me turns and just reaches out at her without asking me, and she began barking. She was not growling or displaying any aggressive behavior. I was attempting to let her know it was OK, but again, she's puppy and the man wound her up by reaching at her. I was then approached by an employee, an older man named Chuck, who told me that me and my dog were a liability and we had to leave. First of all, this is my support animal. Secondly, dogs are animals, and if a dog is going to attack, they are not going to bark first and warn you. She was letting the man know she didn't like him reaching at her. People shouldn't randomly reach at strangers dogs without asking the owner!!!And does the store policy state that any customer whose dog barks is asked to leave? I asked Chuck this question, and he said yes. I surely hope that's accurate and practiced consistently because I'll be contacting corporate regarding this matter. If it's such a liability, why allow dogs in your stores at all, you never know how animals will react?! I had to go outside and leave my 9 year old son alone to get my order, because I'm a single mother, while I was riddled with anxiety from the whole experience. I won't be shopping at Home Depot in the future, and this matter is being escalated as...
