Went in today because a friend told me about them and wasnât even greeted with a hello by any of the employees there. Stood for a solid few minutes looking at the cards in their display case and chatting with a friend about what they had, youâd think theyâd want to make conversation and possibly make a sale and a recurring customer.
This last part isnât their fault, more the state of the world, but itâs frustrating to see a place like this with massive stock of every Pokemon item when theyâre more than likely not buying from a distributor but are instead sending folks out to snatch everything up from the stores in the area that are actually selling at MSRP. Even their foreign language boxes are being sold significantly higher than you can get them anywhere else.
Given that theyâre obviously a family-owned business, I wish them the best but it seems ill-fated to open a business that is solely dealing in a market thatâs volatile and might not be hot for much longer.
Idk, I guess my business advice for them would be to:
Greet customers when they enter Diversify your inventory Stop scalping Stop using the pokemon fonts and logos in your branding before Nintendo finds out lol
Edit: look, you canât just plop out a generic statement about the current state of the market and magically absolve yourself of the part youâre actively playing in making the market that way. Like the call is literally coming from inside the house here lmaoo. People that want to get rich quick and profit off of buying a product at MSRP and reselling at (typically) double the price, are just not the good guys in any story. People like that ruin so many hobbies...

I am collecting the first original 102 1st edition Pokemon cards.
Christopher had shared on Facebook an add for some cards I actually needed.
He lived in a completely different city than myself and was EXTREMELY good at communicating.
I told him my budget for every single card I was looking for and he reasonably worked with me.
He even threw in 2-3 cards for free because they werenât in the condition I was looking for.
Fast forward a few weeks. I find the HOLY GRAIL of cards somewhere else. The coveted 1st edition Charizard!
I went to pay this other business upwards of $6000 via PayPal⌠but I messed up I accidentally sent it to Christopher at this business via PayPal G&S.
Within the hour. Christopher responded to my call and message late at night! And made sure he would dispute the fee.
This was a big mistake on my end and honorably this man not only made sure I secured my card but also has quality product to match his character!
If you are thinking of doing business here look no further!
I canât believe because of my mistake and Chris actions that I am able to be at 50/102 in my collection!
Thank you from the bottom...
Read moreI recently got back into Pokemon collecting, and was extremely lost on where I should start. Went to all the major stores looking for cards, but couldnât find anything. Then I discovered Gastly Ashley Trading Co. online and decided to go to.
As soon as I entered the store I was mind blown by how much inventory they had! ETBâs, SPCâs, and bundles on stuff I thought was long gone. But nope not here, and Adam the Owner is an absolute legend!
He listened to my long story about rediscovering Pokemon, my collecting, where to start and completely understood the assignment. My profile picture is actually what I purchased on my first visit!
So If youâre looking for Pokemon at a fair and reasonable price, this store is unbeatable. Definitely recommend 10/10 and two thumbs up on Yelp and Ask Jeeves! đ Sorry for the late review Adam, shouldâve done this sooner. But better late...
