Truly a great art store! They have pretty much anything, including oil paint mediums, Testors enamel paints, stickers, mural paints, giant fluffy paintbrushes, toned drawing paper, and Iwata airbrushes and Iwata quick release hoses. If you want soemthing, they’ve probably got it! The lowest level Iwata airbrush is only $79 which is pretty cheap to the airbrushes that Hobby Lobby sells which are GSI CREOS midline airbrushes which are too expensive for entry level. Staff is friendly and helpful if you have anything that you’re looking for. Store has good baseline prices for Prismacolor pencils, pretty much $2-$3 off of MSRP. I got a 72 ct. Prismacolor Premier pencil set, Strathmore colored pencil paper, and a few odds and ends like erasers or pencil sharpeners. They have a discount system that you can sign up for in-store if you’re an art student or teacher, and since I’m a Career Tech student I got 10% off my whole purchase which made a difference to a nearly $95 purchase which was brought down to $90. This place is the best of the best to come to in Northeast Ohio for pretty much any art supply you can think of! And don’t be afraid to call the store either, they are responsive and knowledgeable.
The area around the corner of the store is a little sketch but that’s Cleveland. Its only a few miles down the road from the Mayfield Cemetery and Little Italy, so if you want to avoid Route 9 and the backroads you can go the same way you would take across the shoreline hwy and MLK Boulevard thru university circle to get the the Cleveland Museum of Art, and just continue further down Mayfield Rd. It’s worth the trek here instead of Hobby Lobby, JoAnn’s or Michael’s. Michael’s was sold out of the 72 ct. Prismacolor Premier pencils and the price was $3 more expensive there than at Blick. It’s totally worth the trip! Thanks for supplying artists with the...
Read moreWonderful art store. They have so many items, from airbrushes to spray cans to pencils, markers, and sketchbooks. Significantly better selection of brands and items than other chain art stores, whose selections seem like pebbles compared to Blick's. Staff are very nice and willing to help you find anything you are looking for! Location could be better, but it's not a dangerous drive here at all, more just an odd area. Inside of the store is clean and organized, all materials are new and aren't used or damaged, they stock lots of popular brands like Winsor & Newton, Prismacolor, Strathmore, and so many more. They have professional and beginner grade art supplies, so you don't have to be stuck with only getting beginner stuff or vice versa, depending on your skill and budget. If there is a product you are looking for, go here! You can also check their website to see if they even carry it, and their website is great to use when compared with Michael's or the dreaded Hobby Lobby. They have deals and discounts periodically, as well as a student discount of 5% or so. It is really a store you need to visit if you LOVE art or are looking for art supplies for a friend or family member who loves art (since they have some of the more expensive or professional art supplies, which make GREAT gifts). If you don't mind the area and are a seasoned Cleveland resident, it will be a...
Read moreOctober 2021: I was my first time purchasing artist grade materials. As I progress through my art journey, the ball point pens on standard printer paper will not suffice. I was on the market for Bristol paper, micron pens, colored pencils, white pens, markers, pencil sharpener, and a roll-up pouch, which I found and had the opportunity to practice with prior to purchasing.
Pros: Friendly staff greeted me and helped to direct me to the preferred isle of supplies. Top notch materials at good prices. I compared prices to Michaels and Blick came in less expensive, especially when buying in bulk. I bought everything for just shy of $60...which I can make my money back by selling one sketch. The variety of paints, pens, pastel colors, etc. was amazing. Very close to every color imaginable was available and in standard, metallic, or glittery bright shades.
Cons: I am not currently a student so I could not get the 10% discount. Despite that, the prices are still...
