Had a really bad experience. Was with a person whose first language wasn't English and they struggled to hear the person behind the counter who was masked. The employee proceeded to be very rude and impatient with my friend; who was being exceedingly polite and apologetic while struggling to understand the employee who was speaking very rapidly, mumbling a bit, and behind a mask. As we sat and talked I noticed the employee showing the same impatience to some customers. It became clear that women, particularly non-white women did not get the best treatment. Most of the customers who came in were women, and many non-white, so I'm not dropping hard Rs here, BUT they way he treated my friend when she was so clearly struggling was beyond just rude it was insulting. I was overjoyed to share a conversation with today’s barista staff and further thrilled by the quality of my beverage.
One thing of note is that the air was rather moist in the cafe. But do not mistake that for criticism. I found the dampness to be quite appealing as a haven from the warm outside air. Wonderful experience. Thank...
Read morePhoenix Coffee Co. was a great place to go. Delicious drinks and helpful person taking orders who recommended things to try as well as describing in detail what drinks consisted of. Knowledgeable and friendly people working there, as well as a beautiful environment with lots of plants and large windows, made this place a treat to visit. I got a drink of Jasmine green tea with a lavender simple syrup. It tasted like I was drinking a flower, in the very best way possible. I wish they didn't have so much single-use plastic there. If they offered no-plastic cups or allowed you to bring your own cup to promote sustainability, I would...
