Pacific East in Cleveland Heights is a delightful culinary haven that beautifully showcases the vibrant flavors of sushi and Malaysian cuisine. This charming restaurant has garnered a loyal following due to its diverse menu, attentive service, and inviting atmosphere. For anyone who loves exploring bold and unique flavors, Pacific East is a must-visit destination.

As you enter Pacific East, you’re welcomed by a warm and contemporary ambiance, with tasteful decor that creates a relaxing dining environment. The open layout allows for a casual yet intimate experience, making it perfect for both family gatherings and romantic dinners.

The sushi menu at Pacific East is impressive, featuring a wide variety of rolls that cater to all tastes. Each roll is meticulously crafted using the freshest ingredients, showcasing the skill and artistry of the chefs. One standout is the Pacific East roll, which combines delectable ingredients that create a perfect harmony of flavors. The freshness of the fish, paired with perfectly seasoned rice and vibrant vegetables, makes each bite a true delight.

However, if you’re looking to dive into the Malaysian side of the menu, the Mie Goreng is an absolute must-try. This dish is a fantastic representation of Malaysian cuisine, featuring a tantalizing blend of flavors and textures. The Mie Goreng is a flavorful stir-fried noodle dish that boasts an excellent balance of savory and spicy notes. The noodles are cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of chewiness that makes them incredibly satisfying.

What really sets the Mie Goreng apart is its vibrant medley of ingredients. The dish is generously topped with a mix of fresh vegetables, succulent proteins—such as shrimp, chicken, or beef—and aromatic spices that create a symphony of flavors. The combination of the spicy sambal and the savory sauce elevates the dish, providing a rich depth that keeps you coming back for more. Each bite is a delightful explosion of taste, and the portion size is generous, ensuring you leave feeling satisfied.

In addition to the incredible food, the service at Pacific East is top-notch. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, eager to recommend dishes or cater to dietary preferences. They create a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the overall dining experience, making you feel truly valued as a guest.

Overall, Pacific East in Cleveland Heights is a fantastic destination for anyone who loves sushi and Malaysian food. With its exceptional dishes like the Mie Goreng, fresh and flavorful sushi, and attentive service, it’s a place where you can indulge in a memorable culinary experience. Whether you’re a longtime fan or a first-time visitor, Pacific East is sure to impress and leave you eager for...

I have been going to pacific east Beachwood (and Coventry, but they now feel different) for decades, I know the waitresses, Kiki is great, however my last experience permanently compromised my experience with them. My son and I ordered unagi don (eel dinner, on rice with no vegetable extra sauce) and seared salmon belly. We had a new waitress who had trouble understanding us (English) there were only 3 other tables seated and no one came to help in spite of them overhearing the confusion. Took along time, then eel came looked good, covered in noxious pickled vegetables (no problem, but ordered without), no extra sauce, it was cold and tasted very smoked (which neither of us like). I tried to get the waitress attention and she did not understand our question and desire to address the issue, so my son gave up and forced half of it down with extra sauce (finally delivered after long wait) to drown out the flavor, I ate a couple bites just to be sure it wasn’t just a bad first bite. Nonetheless, we got the bill and the price had gone up (but wasn’t on the menu) and charged for extra sauce and ultimately a $65 bill, $20 more than the last time we had the same, less than a year earlier. I was shocked told the confused waitress it wasn’t acceptable and the manager came and refused to discount the bill for the bad eel because it was half eaten, really less but stirred till crushed. She knew the waitress had messed up our order and we tried to address it, but didn’t want to be mean to the waitress by trying more to explain it to her again and again. In any case it was a miserable experience that totally took the air out of any desire to return. I never write reviews, but needed the catharsis, and feel better now:-) it’s been very empty lately and I see why, are...

I was browsing on Google maps for Asian restaurants in the Cleveland area and was surprised to find this restaurant with both Japanese AND Malaysian cuisines. I was eager to try both cuisines because they're some of my favorites (I have Malaysian family), and I've never seen anything like this before. Like with any huge menu, I had trouble deciding what to order because I wanted to try everything. I mainly ordered Malaysian dishes this time, plus the East roll, since I could hopefully come back one day and try other things. The hamachi kama is recommended, but I didn't want to wait because it takes longer to make.

The mango chicken and rendang chicken came on flat plates that didn't make sense because the mango chicken was goopy and spilling over, and the rendang chicken was watery. These dishes are why I can't give 5 stars. I'm used to rendang being more "dry" like a thicker stew or curry. It seemed weird for the dish to come with raw lettuce and tomatoes, reminding me of Mexican restaurants that do the same (but it's for salad at Mexican restaurants). Since the rendang was so watery, there wasn't as strong of a flavor.

The serving sizes for the beef stir fried noodle and mee goreng were very generous and came on huge plates. They both had the right amount of flavors. The mee goreng was slightly spicy, but in a good way. The east roll was also huge, but it's on the pricier side anyway. It had all my favorite sushi roll elements - fried/tempura, eel, and sauces I'm guessing are spicy mayo and eel sauce. Make sure to let it cool down first, or be careful eating it right away because it was really...
