Aspire Auctions Inc. — Local services in Cleveland

I’ve been using Aspire to bid on items for close to 5 years and I never had a problem until now. I bought 3 items in their December 2018 sale. The painting was much smaller than described; about 12” x 17” vs 17” x 20” which is what they listed. That’s a big difference in size and a mistake like this drives bidding higher. When I contacted them about this size difference with photos I was told it was going to be looked into and then I never heard another word. I asked several times for someone to reply writing to different people and never heard back.

I also ordered a metal figurine. The listing photos clearly showed a tag. When I questioned why this tag wasn’t in the box I received a reply 3 minutes later that said “All papers were in the box. It must have fallen out. Unfortunately we dont have it.” Instead of an attempt to actually look for it, I was just immediately told it wasn’t there. I really don’t know how they would know within 3 minutes where it was.

A wrong item was also shipped to me which caused a delivery exception. They requested the box to be sent back to them. I was not informed about this and had to email them to ask what was going on with what I thought was my package. My actual item was then shipped out later. I had to wait another day for Fedex to be home now to sign for it.

I spent several thousand dollars over the years. This last time alone I spent over three thousand. I always paid immediately and never even asked a single question until now.

Here's an update to this story - I got banned by them after writing this. They actually went in and deleted my account. Yes you get banned for writing the truth about this place. I never dealt with a more condescending argumentative...

I have dealt with Aspire Auctions, both as a seller and a buyer, for six years and can endorse the business on many levels. First of all, it is a transparent organization which does what it promises to do: the staff shows up on time for appointments, does thorough research on consigned items, describes those items clearly and knowledgeably in catalogue listings, and photographs them beautifully and from multiple angles. The staff is friendly and eager to please, and the website is easy to navigate. The showrooms are inviting and centrally located, and payment and shipping are easy to arrange. The night an auction commences, the showrooms are thrown open for a champagne reception where consignments are displayed in an attractive and coherent fashion. Aspire Auctions is a fantastic local company that helped me sell several high value items profitable and most importantly quickly. Dealing with classified ads and dealers got me nowhere. I even tried EBay and that did not deliver any meaningful results ether. Aspire guys made selling process painless, pictures that they took were beyond professional. After auction took place, I got my check quickly, within about 30 days and there were no hustle involved. Communication was excellent all the way and they are extremely easy to work with.
