First time visiting the Mimi Ohio Theater (usually in the Keybank for a Broadway Show). The overall space of Playhouse Square has grown into a top to bottom wonderful experience. From the outside chandelier on Euclid Ave (not shown) to the unique eateries attached inside. Arrive early and plan to take in all the city has to offer! The lobby and inside is beautifully decorated with art and ceiling work that makes you appreciate the history that this theater is. The seats are comfortable and the ushers friendly and helpful. There is a small cobsession stand selling cookies, pretzels, and drinks (both non and alcoholic). Someone from our party purchased a hot pretzel and shared and this was soft and buttery, everything you would ask for in an $8 pretzel. Overpriced, but not hard and stale, I would purchase again. We saw A Christmas Carol and the production was put together perfectly, loved the stage special effects, especially the snow at the end. We did sit in the balcony and with the cast not having an overall mic for all, found it difficult at times to hear people. I always love visiting Cleveland and would definitely return to a play anytime the...
Read moreI've been to all of Playhouse Square's seven or so theatres, and this is one of my favorites. It's a gorgeous old theatre in the style of the nearby Hannah and State theatres, and everything looks well-maintained. It's not nearly as large as the State next door and doesn't have its own street entrance (you enter through the lobby of the State Theatre), where all tickets are sold or picked up. But the Ohio Theatre is small enough so that no matter where you sit, you have a good view of the stage, and you are never far from an aisle or exit. I took off one star for a few minor things: lack of easy signage for first-time visitors, only one set of restrooms for this theatre and they're downstairs (but modern and well maintained), and the concession vendors only sell high-carb junk foods... nothing healthy or low-carb, and definitely not keto friendly. It's almost 2020 and you can get healthier options almost anywhere, so why not also at a group of theatres that supposedly cater to smart, relatively health-informed audience members with...
Read moreBeautiful theater but I Wish I could give this No STARS. I have been in contact with customer service and ticket sales about a website issue. I have called both numbers to resolve the issue of server maintenance while trying to reserve and purchase tickets with a promotion code that Playhouse sent me three days before tickets were to go on sale. I spoke to four different people and still unable to purchase the tickets needed for the event. I asked if there was someone I could speak to about website issues and was told no one was able to do anything but I needed to wait to call when tickets go on sale. What is the point of early ticket purchasing if I have to wait to get tickets like the general public. Thanks for the USELESS Promo code that you sent out three days before. I will not be back to this location and will find every location possible to write this review. I am sorry that Poor customer service and your staff are not able to maintain the website for such a beautiful establishment. I am very...
