We visited here upon their opening. This location replaced the empty corner business that used to be the Filipino market Fil-Stop which is missed.
Subzi Mandi will sit next to the now home Big Lots. (What will replace that? Ollie's? Ocean State Job Lot? Something else? Time will tell. đŁđŁď¸
The store is beautifully set up to highlight the produce as soon as you walk in with several rows of a variety of Indian foods in the center.
At the back and sides you will find the refrigerated and frozen foods with the naan bread in an open top cooler located in the back right of the store. The ice cream is located across from the naan bread on the left wall.
Rice is clearly visible in all the variety of the color bags stacked amazingly on the racks behind the produce.
There is a kitchen area that I'm assuming will be serving hot foods but it was not ready in the first day.
There is a wide selection of Indian snacks in the aisle. (May I recommend the Foxnuts?)
So many things to try if you're new or have never tried Indian foods. The produce section has several different fruits that I've never tried but will be willing to try after I lookup how to prepare or cut them. đ
Welcome to the neighborhood Sobzi Mandi. Good luck in your business venture here.

Read moreI visited this place today, It opened yesterday for public. This place is located between Groove street and valley road on the Vanhouten avenue. This is the largest Indian grocery store available for the people of Clifton, Montclair, Bloomfield, Nutley, Secaucus etc . There are varieties of fresh tropical ( Indian ) vegetables available as well the frozen section having varieties of Indian vegetables like chopped banana flower etc The sweet section is also loaded with various mouth watering Indian sweets. The frozen fish section does not have much choice for Indian or Bangladeshi fish . It would be great if they keep some block rohu, Hilsa and some white pomfret . That would attract more customers. This place has a kitchen too so lots of snacks like vegetable pakora ( fritters) , bread paneer pakora ( cottage cheese stuffed bread fritters), cauliflower potato curry available. Have not seen any non vegetarian curries. This place is located in a strip mall where other stores like Dunkinâ donuts, dollar tree, barbar shop are also available. While planning shopping in this place can sip a coffee in Dunkinâ Donuts or have a hair cut if you need . Plenty of...
Read moreSubzi Mandi is a solid spot for anyone looking for authentic Indian groceries in the Clifton area. They carry a wide range of fresh produce, spices, lentils, frozen foods, and snacks that youâd typically find back home. I was impressed with their selection of masalas and ready-to-eat options.
The store layout is a bit tight, and it can get a little crowded on weekends, but the staff is usually helpful if youâre looking for something specific. Prices are reasonable for the most part, and I appreciate the convenience of having a desi store just a short distance away.
Would definitely recommend if youâre missing flavors from home or want to experiment with...
