Antiques at Maria's LLC — Local services in Clinton Township

The owner's responses speak volumes for the type of person who runs this business. She is dishonest, rude, illiterate, and confusing.

We frequent estate sales quite often, and went to one of hers a few months ago. We were interested in an item and she told us that she already bought it from the owner, but could sell it to us. I've never heard of an estate sale company doing this and it seems quite unethical, but I guess if it's okay with the homeowner, that's fine. We wanted to look it over and see if it worked, and she initially had no problem with us looking it over. Then she said that if we wanted to buy, we would have to go to her store and couldn't take it home that day. Then she didn't want us to look at it anymore. It was very strange and we both got a really bad feeling that she was just not being straightforward or ethical.

More recently, we unknowingly went to her store. Once we both recognized her we left. There wasn't anything there that interested us anyway.

I can only surmise that the previous reviewer who said her shop was in the top 10% of antique stores in the country doesn't get out much, because that is laughable at best. The store is clean and organized, but very small, she's rude, and the items aren't anything worth making the drive for. I suspect it's a friend/family member trying to boost her Google rating as she obviously needs to recover from all of these bad reviews.

I would not even give this establishment one star I have been in business all my life, and the employees were very chipper and friendly, and when Maria stormed through the door, she yelled at me asking me if I was trying to sell my antiques to her employees. I went to show them a picture of my cat, and when Maria stormed through the door “ don’t even show them that picture they have nothing to do with buying anything,.and then she turned to my friend and asked her. What do you want.My Collection is not for sale and made that clear they are brand new and no not racist I call it like I see it rude unwelcoming disrespectful and you health shows it. Finding Maria's Estate Sales was heaven-sent. My Mom passed away, we were selling her home and our emotions were very high. To say Maria took care of everything is an understatement. Her expertise in enhancing the home staging with some of her own decor greatly improved the Real Estate walk through presentation. She maximized our income by using her appraisal experience to sell items of particular value from her store. Her meticulous attention to detail and her continuous updates in photos and texts were timely and informative. After the home sale and for the estate sale, Maria's professionalism was also apparent in dealing with HOA rules and neighbors. Her estate sale followers and advertising brought in many buyers. Her disposal of unsold items to charities was complete and appreciated. Finally, her cleanup after the sale was spot-on and our new owner was so impressed that she will be using Maria's Estate Sales herself.
