Very disappointed in service I received at Candy-works today while stopping in with my Mom. We made the trip down for some highly sought after hot chocolate bombs to give as gifts and figured we would buy several other gifts in the store as well. The folks behind the counter were rude to us as well as several other customers while we were in store. After being told we could have 8 hot chocolate bombs we asked if they could be held at checkout so we could browse other items in the store. Upon return, we were told we could only have 6. While waiting for her receipt, the gentleman behind the counter asked my mom why she was still there which made us uncomfortable so we hurriedly left, forgetting a copy of the receipt. Disappointed in our experience, My mom left a comment on the business Facebook page and received an incredibly lengthy and rude private message stating that “people like yourself” are the reason businesses don’t want to do this. Their response stated “I’m sorry if 6 bombs and 2 minis isn’t good enough for you”...we did not receive 2 minis and I sincerely hope we were not charged for them but we have no way of knowing as they did not provide the receipt. They also said they weren’t sure why she was “so upset over hot chocolate”...to be clear she was not upset over hot chocolate but poor customer service and unclear item limits which should’ve been clearly posted in the store saving themselves and us a headache. She spent $80 at this small business today and was simply trying to share feedback so they could offer better service and have repeat customers in the future. If they had responded in a more pleasant manner and actually addressed my moms concerns instead of insulting her repeatedly, perhaps they would have kept these customers. Would not recommend this shop to anyone, there are many other stores with better selections and...
Read moreIf you like unique foods — this is the place to be. That have rare things you wouldn’t see in the average place. I don’t understand the hype about Candy Works. The customer service was disappointing—when I asked a question, the staff just looked at me blankly. I bought six items and paid $20, but the candy wasn’t freshly made — it’s just a bag with less candy than the original bag. Each piece was priced at $3-$4, which is way more than what you'd pay for similar items at a store. Given the prices and presentation, I expected a lot more. It felt like an overpriced version of what you’d find in a Party City candy section. Overall, it’s just mid and I’m very...
Read moreMy son and his grandmother went into this store, they were both excited as my MIL used to take my son’s dad all the time. Not sure if this is a new owner from fuzzy wigs, but the owner is extremely rude telling my son not to touch anything and giving my MIL dirty looks the entire time. My MIL spent a pretty penny in the store for the owner to be nasty. Understand your a candy store, and kids are going to be excited and want to...
