Last May my children purchased me a pastel yellow reversible Coach tote bag along with a change purse wallet, a checkbook wallet and a small credit card holder. After owning the bag for about 9 months but only using it for a few weeks after they bought it and a few weeks in the summer the straps were starting to crack. I don’t overstuff my pocketbooks and I had conditioned it with the Coach leather conditioner however because the way that the straps bend it creates a crease which ultimately begins to crack. I was happy when I showed the manager at the Clinton outlet the bag and he told me that it was still covered under manufacturers warranty. He would package it and have it sent out for repairs and they would send it back to me. I left the store thinking that is why it pays to buy quality merchandise however I was in for a surprise. Instead of receiving my repaired bag in the mail I received a gift card for about thirty percent less than what my children originally bought the bag for along with a letter. The letter explained to me that the card was in place of the bag as they could not repair it due to the color no longer being available. The letter went on to say that if I wanted the bag instead of the gift card I should request it within 30 days of the letter or else they would destroy the bag. I immediately called and I was furious because the wallets are now a waste. The customer service rep made an attempt to get a replacement bag but quickly informed me that this was a discontinued color however she had the bag in pink which will make my wallets useless. She was unable to rectify the situation so I told her that I would prefer the bag back as opposed to the card which wasn’t enough to replace a new tote bag let alone 3 matching wallets. She immediately deactivated the card. As a customer, I was inconvenienced in more ways than one and there was minimal attempt to rectify the situation. At this point once the straps break on the tote that will be the last...
Read moreSpent a great deal of money on a Coach purse, thinking it's worth the extra money for the extra quality. Straps on purse started to fail within 9 months. Went to the store 2 months after their "12 month warranty" to be told they will stand by their product if we pay $90 plus shipping to get the damage pursed to they're repair facility. The cost of shipping and the repair almost equates to the total price of buying a new purse. If I had paid $30 for a purse, I would expect failure after one year. Would have like to believe Coach is of better quality and company will stand by their product. Very disappointed customer!! Management's response was " our new policy alliance with other companies policies!" Once again, if I wanted other companies policies, I would have shopped at the other companies. People still believe Coach is a great name brand. However, times have changed and their products can falls apart just as quickly as the generic products. Buyer beware! Coach will NO longer stand by their product or offer great quality, which is one thing I used to love about them. Will NEVER buy...
