I came here on a Wednesday. Its during its listed business hours, however the shop is closed and has a "will return" sign on the door. So I wait the 15-17 minutes in my car, outside the shop. The owner comes back, and then I go inside. I have my two kids with me. 2 and 9. Both boys are extremely quiet and stayed next to my side the ENTIRE time. The owner said I have a beautiful family, asking how old the boys are, you know, making small conversation. Next, I show him my son's gold chain that had broke and needed to be fixed. He said it won't be an issue. He'll even do it for $18. Great, I'm happy. I ask how long it'll take, and he says "Oh, well the guy who fixes it decided to take a few days off, so maybe he will be back Saturday" He also lets me know the repair takes no more than 5-10 minutes when the guys is there. I let him know that I will be out of the country and I'll definitely be back to get the chain fixed. THIS is where things took a complete 180.

He starts to pull out an envelope and a pen, asks if I want to leave the chain. I reply "Oh no, it's ok.. I'll just come back next week when I'm back in town." He says "Oh ok, no problem. Don't come back this business then." and I paused... I looked at him and kinda laughed, like is this guy serious? I ask him "Really?" He said "Yes, don't come back here" I asked him "Is there an issue? I'm just not comfortable leaving any of my jewelry anywhere. I watch them clean my wedding rings" He said "No, but you don't leave it here, so just go and keep this memory" I'm already kinda shocked that the encounter went that direction. I just said "Ok, have a nice day, thanks anyway" and started walking toward the door... this man had the audacity to say "Yeah and stop having kids, you shouldn't have any" as I was walking out. WHAAATTTTTT.

OKAY BUDDY. WHAT IN THE WORLD. Poor, poor service. I understand that your jeweler fixer person wasn't there today. I wasn't mad. I was completely understanding, agreeing that he probably wanted to enjoy a few days of this beautiful weather. HOWEVER, because I do not want to leave my son's 14K chain there for over a week... you want to suddenly tell me not to return... ok, fine. But for the last comment? You were just telling me how beautiful my kids are, how well behaved they are, etc. AND THEN you want to tell me not to have anymore kids cause I won't leave my chain? LOL. I had my kids with me, or I probably would've had some words for him. I looked back at him like "WOW" and kept walking.

Shady business if you ask me. Wasn't even open during business hours listed. A "be back" sign was present.

Man flipped the script on me because I wouldn't leave the chain in his store. I have a feeling he just wanted to pocket my $200+ chain and probably give me back a cheap one that is somewhere in his store.

The unnecessary and disrespectful comments.

So, I took the chain to another jewelry place and they got it done. I asked the employee there if I had been rude for not wanting to leave my chain at the previous place... even she told me almost nobody leaves their jewelry and...

Look No Further!!!

I went to M&S Jewelers to see if they could repair a ring that I had brought overseas that meant a lot to me. I had this ring for some years and some how the center of the ring got a small hole in it, so for a while I had stop wearing it because I really didn't know what could be done about it. I went on Saturday, I knew it was going to be super busy but I wanted to see what would they recommend. Mr. Mohamed and his staff greeted me with a warm smile.

I explained how precious the ring meant to me and how I just didn't know what could be did to repair the center of the ring with the hole in the center. Mr. Mohamed had his repair man Mr. Lee came and took a look and they both decided by the ring being a solid 18k gold ring it would be best to add a 6 prong Tiffany Mountain Set in the middle to secure the diamond. Mr. Lee went to work on my ring right away. While I waited they offered me a cold bottled of water and made me felt at home. As I sat and waited I called my son told him M&S Jewelers had a huge selections of wedding rings to chose from since he was getting married. I already knew what my son and his wife was actually looking for, as far as style and size so I FaceTime him all of the gorgeous rings they have. Mr. Mohamed and his sons definitely has an eye for precious stones. Mr. Mohamed gave my son a deep discount far better than other places he went shopping around looking for that perfect ring.

It was meant for me to come to M&S Jewelers that day it definitely felt like I was doing business with family. It took Mr. Lee no time to set the Tiffany Mountain Set in the middle, shine it up and when I tell you the work is Amazing I mean Amazing!!! So many people compliment me more now about the ring with the 6 prong Tiffany Mountain in the middle than before, when it was just a solid 18k gold ring. My son and his wife truly love their purchase. If anyone looking for a place to buy good quality jewelry rather it's rings, watches, neckless, earrings, regardless of your budget they have something for everyone budget, I promise you will find it there. I went there for the first time last Thursday. I was actually looking for a coin exchange somewhere in Alexandria because I had to be there later that afternoon but I personally live in Clinton. Fortunately the yellowpages search also posted things nearest to my zip code so when I saw something that was literally right around the corner from my house I was very happy. I had never even heard of them before. And it turns out they have only been open for maybe a month or so which explains why I never heard of them. I often go to Gaithersburg to get top dollar for gold and silver but its so out of the way!!! Its annoying and gas/metro fees cost more than I'd like which technically outweighs any loss I'd suffer from what Mohamed and Sons Jewelers offered me for my silver.

In general I refuse to do business with coin stores who refuse to pay me at least 90% of spot price. I've been to places in DC where they give me some lame excuse why they're only going to give me 75% of spot price and that's crap! Now don't get me wrong when I go to Gaithersburg I get 100% of spot but sometimes I find myself waiting an hour just go get my money! Time is money and I don't want to waste my time. I'll settle for a 5% loss while preserving an hour of my time, not to mention the 2 hours getting to and from Gaithersburg.

Mohamed and Sons is MOST WELCOME to Clinton and I'm glad there's a place up the street from my house where I can get TOP DOLLAR for my gold and silver. I plan on doing much much repeat business with them.
