My usual nail tech at Mega Nails in Waldorf was out for the day so I decided to try Happy Nails.. when I walked in the environment was a little weird because no one spoke to me, until I walked behind the front counter toward the tables the nail techs were all occupying. When I asked how much for a gel fill in the lady said “5 secs”, so I asked one of the ladies that was I guess leaving for the day how much it would cost and she told me $30.. which isn’t that bad but still more than what I would’ve paid at my regular. So I waited... a lot longer than 5 seconds but I would say it was about 10 mins and the lady finally told me come sit over in the corner. When the nail tech walked over and sat down she didn’t speak she just said “lemme see your hands” and when I did so, she automatically asked me did I get my nails done by one of the nail techs at that location prior to me coming in this particular time and I told her no and she told me my nails were horrible and looked terrible & started cutting and filing and clipping and I asked her for the gel color “bubble bath” and she told me they didn’t have that color but that had something similar, so I said okay.. and she went and got the color. When she was filing my nails she was making the file burn my nail bed and it was hurting so of course I let her know and she just said “ughhh” and continued to do so... then when she was finished shaping my nails I told her they weren’t even and she told me I’m picky and that’s why my nails were horrible, then when I asked to see the book with the nail colors she said ughh again and with a attitude handed me the book and started pointing at me talking to one of the other nail techs... when I was finished I felt so disrespected and unwelcome I didn’t even want to pay... THIS PLACE...

Went in to get a regular soak off, which you can do at literally ANY nail salon in the DMV. I came in and requested a soak off, the nail tech that "assisted" said," you want off." I replied, "yes I'd like to do a soak off!" just to ensure clarity. She begins cutting and filing my nails. I ASSUMED to prep for them for soak off. AND THEN SHE START POPPING THEM OFF, NO ACETONE NO WARNING. When I reasonably flinched, as this was not the service I was expecting, nor the one i requested. She and the other techs laughed, and it seemed to me that I was the butt of some joke I didn't understand. I asked again if they offered soak offs this time she responded no. Had that been the response when I asked initially I would've just gone to another salon Instead. She continued the painful removal, damaging the nail beds for every single finger. As well as breaking one of my nails. When I expressed this, she said no its not broken its, "fragile" HUH?!

While I normally do not post reviews, I felt the need to as walking into a salon and asking for a soak off, again a very basic service. I do not understand why I was forced to endure an unnecessarily painful removal. If you did not offer the soak of services, why wasnt this stated until the 3rd time asked. It would've saved us both time and saved me from unnecessary pain and nail damage that I am currently trying reverse.

So I have taken my son to get a haircut and was looking to get my eyebrows done really quickly so I googled of course and started my walk. Was a little apprehensive about going in, but when I went in I noticed this is a diverse place where people worked. I was immediately impressed but still nervous I mean after all these are my brows and I’m very picky about my look. Now the receptionist wasn’t very warm and friendly when I first walked in no greeting I had to get her attention and she was just like go back there (back where I’m new lol) but hey let’s see how this place is, Julie directed me came up smile on her first open conversation I’m still nervous she does the first eyebrow and shows me .... well I’m super impressed, she listened made sure I’m happy before proceeding she does the second brow cleans me up a little I’m happy I am happy happy, I go to pay and the receptionist looks up at me nervously as I say oh my god I’m impressed, who’s the owner because now only am I impressed about Julie this is the first place I’ve been to that’s diverse and I love it!!! She smiles and says I’m glad you like it.. oh wow you are actually friendly lol but all laughs aside this place was actually a great place for me and that’s...
