Mackey's Colchester — Local services in Colchester

I was referred to Mackey's because they are the contracted repairs for Ego product. I initially called on Saturday June 19 and explained the problem to them. I was informed I would immediately get a call back. Because it was I was not overly concerned I did not get a call back.

On Monday June 21 I called and talked to 4 people. I was first told they subcontract the repairs and could not give out the number to the repair shop. I was then told they do not have the number to the repair shop.

When I asked who did the repairs they repeatedly refused to tell me who does the work. Additionally, one time they told me the person they subcontract with subcontracts out to others. Then they told me the person does it in that person's shop. Again, they refused to tell me who did the repairs.

Finally, I was requested on Saturday to describe the problem (essentially the mower considers the batteries to be dead, when they are fully charged and work in other Ego devices). When they read back the problem, it was described to me as I have 3 dead batteries.

All in all a good experience. Our visit was a bit toward the mid season, so I wasn't expecting a lot. The staff was friendly and helpful. Most of the plants are in good health and there are even a variety of sizes for some of them which allows for multiple price points. I was pleasantly surprised at all they had. The selection of Native plants is pretty good, but I would like to see more. The inside is full of pet and bird enthusiasts supplies. I did find the prices to be high, but shopping local is important to us. We were planning an additional stop for one item that they ended up having which was lime. The gentleman that loaded our car was even kind enough to help us load the lime correctly so as to avoid a messy cleanup at home. That alone was a...

This (and the store in Willimantic) is the only store I'll just pop into and see what they have. It's got everything you need for gardens and pets, and surprisingly the nicest decorations and gifts (especially around the holidays). My dogs absolutely love all the natural treats they sell here, and they're really cheap too! This is also the only place that I can find that sells dog beds that are a reasonable price.
