I visited Kirkland's in College Station on Saturday, October 12, 2019. I was warmly greeted by sales personnel however, after I selected my item for checkout and had completed the transaction, the salesclerk was unable to print a receipt for my purchase. She (Elizabeth), initially thought the register lacked paper to print the receipt, so she asked another employee for assistance. The employee told her the register's problem was not a lack of paper, but it was an issue that the manager would need to call corporate or whomever store personnel calls when there is an issue with a register. At this point, two on-duty managers came to offer their assistance. Other customers were waiting behind me to be checked out so Elizabeth left the register and moved to another register to assist waiting customers. Julie Hunter and another manager, whom I did not ask her name, began to attempt to print a receipt. Julie Hunter stated that a receipt could not be printed out because the "card" had not "gone through" which was an untruth because the purchase was complete and I was only waiting for a receipt. When I began to show signs of agitation because I have waited for 7 minutes after purchasing my merchandise for a receipt, I stated "I am only waiting for a receipt"...Julie rudely exclaims "we are working on it"! Her unprofessional and less than amenable attitude was totally out of line for someone who works in a customer service position. To rudely address a customer who is simply waiting for a sales receipt because you as the manager and your staff are incompetent to figure out how to print a receipt from a different register, is totally unacceptable customer service. I asked the manager who was assisting if there was a transaction number. She stated there was and I told her, "if you have a transaction number, you can print the receipt from another register". Julie Hunter then says "we've never done that before but it's worth a try". Needless to say, it worked and this ability is a technique that the staff, especially the managers should have known was possible instead of allowing a customer to wait 10 minutes for a receipt. In addition, rudely inferring in front of other customers that the purchase was not approved or "gone through" as stated by Ms. Harper. The store is a pleasure to shop in and deserves 4 stars for the merchandise and cleanliness of the store, however, the staff, especially the management is in my opinion incompetent and extremely rude. Read moreI do a lot of shopping at this location. Every time I have stopped in. I’m always greeted. This particular location everybody has always been super kind and helpful. Stopped in today to shop for a buffet lamp. I have to admit, sometimes I am indecisive. I picked out a lamp and proceeded to head to check out. Miss Briana, was checking me out, and I noticed another lamp behind the register on display. I asked her about that lamp. She was so courteous, stopped in the middle of checking me out to checked on the other lamp I was inquiring about. Well, I ended up walking out with the original lamp. But Miss Briana Was super helpful and super kind. People always like to leave reviews when people are rude or not helpful. Read moreI would love to give a big shout out to Lindsey!! I drove all the way from across town to purchase a specific tote I saw online. I was shopping for a tote to fill with gift items I purchased for a friend who was leaving the next day. I went straight to the store after work, but little did I know, they closed at 7:00 pm. Lindsey met me at the door to tell me they were closed. I told her my situation, and she allowed me to go in and purchase the tote I needed to complete my gift. I’m sure she was tired, and ready to go home, but she kindly opened the doors to help me out. Thank you Lindsey for being such a wonderful and kind customer service rep! You were so sweet and kind.
