I found Zen Salon & Spa through my mom. My mom had gotten a perm and when I saw it, it was exactly what I have been wanting for YEARS. I was excited when my mom made me an appointment for when I was coming up to visit. Having had perms before I had a few hesitations as my first perm made me look like Michael Jackson which was not a very good look on a 15 year old girl lol. I had to cut off about 6â8 inches of my hair so that it would grow out properly. My second perm was the exact opposite of the first one (which was wayyyyy too tight) the second one was too loose and only lasted for about a month or two. I have waited 2 years just so that I would be able to find a place that would give me exactly what I want. And thatâs what Sue did for me, she was so amazingly friendly and welcoming and made the salon feel like a home. I have never met a hairstylist that could actually do my hair correctly due to itâs different textures and such and the amount of hair I have. Sue was amazing at making sure all of my hair matched textures all around. I loved my experience and I wish I could move here just so that I could go to this salon more often. No ones ever been able to do exactly to my hair what I want and I have finally found someone who can! I highly recommend that yâall go and see Sue she was amazing and I am sure you will all have the same experience!
The best hair experience of my life!! If I ever get another perm I already know where to go! (Also she trimmed my hair and it was the first trim Iâve ever had that they didnât take off more than an inch, which is like double bonus points for Sue!) good luck on all of yâall hair adventures, I hope Zen Spa & Salon works for yâall as well as it did for me...
Read moreI went here cause my mom and sister both go here I figured why not try it out. Well I was trying to schedule with their stylist I tried for two weeks and still no reply so I decided to go with chris he seemed knowledgeable. I have only dyed or highlighted my hair once so I wasnât sure which color I wanted I had an idea but I guess it was not possible to do it unless I dyed my whole head and then added highlights. So I was torn between lowlights and Baylayge style. My appt was 1:15 but I can 10 min early to look at the colors and get input . After discussing what I originally wanted was not possible unless I did a lot of other work . I had 2 things in mind as a stylist you should give input on things if a client asks which they believe is better . Well he didnât he said all colors pretty much would look good on me itâs a matter of opinion which I donât believe that every color would look good . Then after 20-30 min of him talking about the colors and what he can do . He said he doesnât want to do my hair , because Iâm unsure what I want , which is false I had an idea in mind he couldnât do it and then I had 2 options I just needed his professional opinion . And so it was a waste of time then he said to get another stylist opinion and maybe he will do my hair after I know exactly what I want. Why would I come back? As a stylist you should be able to discuss what would look good on the face shape and color . It is what it is itâs very unprofessional from the get go I shouldnât have came when I didnât hear back after multiple attempts to contact Katie , that should have been the first red flag . I wonât come back I would rather pay a little more for input and respect not...
Read moreI am writing to formally complain about a highly distressing incident at A Zen Salon & Spa, where the conduct of the stylist not only breached our agreed service terms but felt akin to an assault to me. Weâd been talking for days about what we were going to do with my hair. She knew the length, she knew I currently had color, everything!!! Despite clear instructions to trim only 2 inches, which on a side note was essential to maintaining my indigenous cultural identity, the stylist abruptly chops off 5-6 inches of my hair. Immediately after this, she informed me that she would not perform the agreed-upon treatment and summarily demanded that I leave the salon. The sheer emotional distress from this has left me damaged how I was treated and the fact it will take months for my hair to recover.
This act of cutting my hair significantly beyond what was consented to, especially after I explicitly said not to, felt like a personal violation and assault. It was not only a professional misconduct but also deeply disrespectful of my cultural values, where hair holds significant meaning. Do not come here! If you value your hair, do not come here! !
Who does that!!! I told her only two inches and she straight up says ânoâ and cuts 6inches off!!!! Who does that!!! Then says the treatment wonât take anyway so Iâm refusing to do the treatment!!! Then whyâd you chop my hair off!!!!!!!!!! DONT COME HERE!!!!!!!
Update from my review of my service with the owner 4/14 at 130pm- my hair is now dry and evidently almost half gone! I have thick, native hair and itâs now equivalent to a bob!!! My hair was down to my...
