I love Target! But not this one. As a new resident of the area, I've been here only twice, and I hated both experiences. The biggest problem is, their shelves are not stocked! Why is that? This is not a Target problem, but evidently it's a major issue here! First time, I had a list of a dozen things I needed. Most of the items that are essentials like floss were out of stock. And I asked an unhelpful employee about a specific brand of floss, and she said they probably don't carry it anymore. Why not? I've used Johnson & Johnson "Reach" waxed floss for about 20 years, and it's an extremely common brand. She just didn't have a clue about anything, even though she was specifically re-stocking the toothpaste aisle.
Another time, I was so fed up that at the checkout, I mentioned the stocking issue to the clerk. She was very responsive and kind, and brought over the manager to speak with me. I forget his name, but he was also very responsive and professional. Maybe his name was Dan? Anyway, he asked what I was specifically shopping for, and didn't find. I told him general things, as I was looking at my shopping list. But my point was that many basic things were not stocked, and he kept asking me for specifics, which was very annoying. It was annoying because I was also shopping for things that were not on my list, and I didn't remember exactly what they were, except that I did not find them. Additionally, I noticed a lot of bare shelves for other items that I was not shopping for. Please, please address this issue and do a better job of stocking your shelves! Plus, it was a Saturday afternoon, so there is no excuse for bare shelves in your store.
On the positive side, each time I've been here, the lines were short or non-existent. (Maybe other people had bad experiences here and don't return?) I also used a self-checkout kiosk once, and it was the quickest experience. Thank you!
My final note is that I despise the new layout of the store. Where is everything located, and why the new layout? The old layout that is typical of all Target stores was perfect! And the sameness of Target stores is why I love them. Let's say you go to one that is not your home Target, and you have a short amount of time. You know the layout anyway, so in and out you go! That's what made Target so great. Their stores were laid out all the same, so the familiarity keeps you coming back. Your corporate people obviously don't know your...
Read morePlease be very wary of getting your pictures taken at THIS Target Portrait Studio. The staff is ill-informed about their policy regarding PETS. I was personally told by someone who worked in the studio that they do accept pets if it's the last appointment of the day. After that conversation, I purchased my Groupon, made the appointment via the call center and thought I was set. I received a call on Tuesday confirming our appointment (for Saturday) from the studio who at that time said they don't allow pets which was VERY frustrating. I told her that I spoke to someone from the Studio prior to purchasing the Groupon so I requested to speak to the manager. The manager called me back 2 days later, he explained that they don't allow pets. He also tried to imply that I was misinformed because it was booked via the call center. Again that did not happen because in order to reach the studio, you need to call a different number as they can't transfer within the store as it's separately owned from Target. Prior to his call, I received a cancellation from the studio and was offended that no one took the time to discuss this issue with me. So I told the manager to education his staff on the policies of that store because that is the only reason why I bought the Groupon. Needless to say, this studio (which is NOT part of Target) will not receive my business and hope others be wary of this poorly...
Read moreThis review applies only to Cellular One; not the rest of Target.
This problem started about the end of February when I bought an IRIS flip phone at the Target store at 6111 Dobbin Road, Columbia MD 21045-5802. The phone stopped working after about a week. What happened was that the phone froze with "Cellular One" in white with an orange background.
I went back to the store and they tried to fix it. The problem happened again. I want back and exchanged it for another one. A week later - same story. Another week went by - same thing with a third phone. I went back again on March 18. Today - March 24 - same problem with this phone. Today (March 25) I will go back AGAIN!
Clearly, there is a problem. The salesperson offered me a refund. This does not solve the problem! If my car breaks down on the street, how can I phone an auto club with a phone that doesn't work??? Is it too much to ask for a cell phone that works? This is what I want and this is what I DEMAND.
Cellular One has now had three tries to fix the same problem on three separate phones. I recommend that Target divorce their relationship with Cellular One and throw them out. If Target does this, I will...
