I tend to try and avoid this store because of all the negative reviews, but I took a trip with my littles to make a quick purchase for a baby shower. Prior to shopping, I took my two children to use the restroom. This place was disgusting. This was in the middle of the day, a little after 1, so there should have been someone on shift to clean. One stall had wads and strings of toilet paper on the floor and OVERFLOWING from the toilet and had a strong odor. The second available stall had fecal matter smeared on the bowl and inside the bowl. The other stalls were full, but I didn't want to see what they were like, so I left out. I told my kids we would hurry to get what we needed and leave so that they could use a clean bathroom somewhere else.
Finding what I needed was easy because I knew what to look for and where to find it One associate was kind enough to bring me an empty cart she wasn't using as mine was having an issue with the wheel, so that was nice. The express line was pretty empty with only one customer ahead of me, while the other lines seemed long. The cashier, named Nada, seemed to be having a bad day. I smiled and greeted her as she began to scan my items, she may have grumbled something, I'm not sure. I went to pay for my items and asked for a gift receipt. Apparently this was her breaking point because she gave me a nasty look and said she would have to void out everything and start over. I responded with Ok, do what you need to do. I apologized for the inconvenience, but tried to explain that I had never had an issue of it being printed out at the end during previous gift purchases from Wal Mart. She didn't care. She rolled her eyes, huffed, and called abruptly for the manager. It took a few seconds, I got my gift receipts and items, told Nada to enjoy her day, and got out of there. Maybe the load is too much on them because they are understaffed and constantly hiring, but I have never had this issue with any other Wal Marts and it is sad that this one represents the Columbia area. I will happily drive across 175 next time and go to the Target...
Read moreBlack women really are SUPERHEROES! 🦸🏽♀️ At Walmart, I watched and assisted a Black woman( not an employee a customer) who helped save an elderly Caucasian man’s life around 9:17pm. While she was trying to help him breathe, I screamed for help—specifically for someone who knew how to perform CPR. Dialing 911 and trying to stay calm was a task in itself.
My anxiety got the best of me for a moment because I thought help wouldn’t arrive in time—it seemed like he was getting worse while I was on the phone with the 911 operator. My anxiety tried to take over, but I was determined to stay calm and communicate clearly without fumbling my words. I caught myself stumbling, but I quickly regained control—thank God. Next thing you know, I jumped into delegation mode, getting anyone and everyone to assist this woman and myself while this man was fighting for his life. Sheesh.
God bless her and everyone who helped. I really wish I could thank her more and give her a big hug for caring enough to save that man’s life. At the time, she was holding on to the man’s hand and holding him up. After I ended the 911 call, I tried to get him to call his family members, but he didn’t want to—I guess he didn’t want to worry them. He was stubborn about it, so I just let it go. I had to leave to get home to my children.
Whoever you are, just know you’re a blessing and blessed. You are a superhero and an inspiration. May God continue to bless you, your family, and all your efforts! 🙏🏽🙌🏽❤️
Walmart I hope you find her and acknowledge her for her efforts and for being a hero.

Read moreAfter standing in the self check out li e for over 15 min practicing social distancing which had me to the back of the store in a food aisle, I was stopped when I got to the register by Audrey (based on her not so friendly attitude she must be their star employee). She asked if I had more than 20 items-I did 22 she made me count before ringing anything up. I was told the manager only wanted customers at self check out with 20 items or less. Signs all over about masks and social distancing but not one saying g 20 items or less. I had plenty of time to read the signs while waiting in line but no signs about the limit any where. I truly believe Audrey just made this rule up because if it is a new regulation like the mask wearing and social distancing it would have been and SHOULD have been posted throughout the standing in line process but nothing just Audrey word. Instead of fighting and causing a scene (I figure there is enough of that in our world already) I went to one of the few manned registers. Wouldn't have been a problem if all of the were open but only two were open for more than 20 items. I saw and read the signs for those Express lanes so avoided those as instructed. So another 15 plus minutes in line just to pay and do the right thing by following Audrey directions. Not sure, judging from Audrey's attitude, if the roles had been reversed if she would have gone to another line. Come on walmart, you need to open all registers and post signs in regards to limitations to self check out. Also a little customer service and employee training...
