Dollar Tree — Local services in Columbus

This afternoon I came in to grab a few things. I grabbed some candy, candles , things to make a wreath etc. I went to check out, and the cashier (I’m not going to mention the name) was very rude to the lady in line in front of me. She said maybe one word to her and was completely rude. The , when it was my turn I was as nice as I could be to her. She didn’t say one thing to me. Just started to ring up my things, then I realized I didn’t have enough money on me to cover everything I had picked up, so I left three items in the basket and kindly told her I wouldn’t be buying them. She then made a rude comment saying everyone has been doing that. I laughed it off not realizing she was just being rude. She rang up everything as I awkwardly held my basket, then not knowing what to do with it I put it over where she laid my begged items. The receipt printed off after my card was accepted and I waited for her to hand it to me and to say “thank you” or “have a nice day” like any cashier would do... and she didn’t give it to me. After a minute of awkward silence she huffed and puffed and threw my receipt at me as if she expected me to take it myself. The. I told her to have a nice day wit a smile, trying to get away as fast as possible grabbing my things leaving my basket behind with the items I wasn’t buying and as I walked away she rudely made a scene in front of everyone and yelled “oh I guess I’ll put your things away myself!” I turned around and asked if that was ok and she said “yeah someone will get to it” and threw my things onto the other cash register station in another line. I’ve been a cashier and I know you shouldn’t expect anyone to return their own items. It’s a part of your job! If she kindly told me she was busy and asked, I would have put them back.... but to yell at me and making a scene because you’re upset? That’s horrible. That is not a way to treat a customer. If I was the right type of person I could have just walked out with merchandise I didn’t buy. Because she expected me to put it up myself. I’m NEVER shopping here again until I know for sure she has been removed. Never in my life have a seen someone act that way toweard their customers. And I work in a call center! I’m disgusted. I love this location, and I’ve never had an issue before. But this lady is putting a bad name to this location and really deserves to be terminated. She’s obviously not happy with her job. Visit that took place 10 maybe 15 min before they closed, the reason I’m putting three ⭐️’s is because I procrastinated and saw the time an bolted to the store 4/5 items I needed were completely gone just empty space not stocked at all :( the reason I wanted to go to dollar store was because they have these specific. I chose the wrong store, the other dollar tree same distance, in the other direction may have been a better option. Therefor I ended up spending more then I needed and ended up with nothing I needed. Maybe there put of stock if not it was slow with two people would have been nice for someone to stock. However I’m sure they have a person who does that at a certain time I shouldn’t judge. They were respectful for me coming in...

Today, the store wasn’t supposed to close until 9pm. If you want to “close” early at 8:45pm, then lock your doors. Don’t leave them unlocked & then tell me “we’re closed” after I’m already in the store in the aisle getting the one singular item I need 15 whole ass minutes before the store closes. It would’ve taken me 30 seconds to check myself out (I was paying with a card, so even if the register was already counted down that wouldn’t have been a problem).
