This is, without ANY doubt, the absolute worst Bob Evans on the planet. My 80-year-old mother could have waited on us faster, and more accurately, than our waitress. The host seated five tables, in immediate succession after us, in our waitress' section, and it was almost painful to watch her go back and forth struggling with drink orders. My eggs were crispy on one side, underdone on the other; my toast was not toasted; the hollandaise had obviously been sitting under the heat lamp because it had a nice crust on top (this was confirmed by the texture and color of the extra hollandaise sauce I requested to cover up the food so I could eat it -- that didn't work). I asked for crisp hash browns, they were raw in the middle. Mom ordered pot roast with biscuits, which didn't get delivered until she was finished with her dinner AND they were cold, even though the waitress said she had to wait for "fresh" biscuits. Mom ordered dessert (can't screw up ice cream), and when the waitress delivered food to the table next to us (they waited for over half an hour after they ordered), their food was cold, and the woman and her two grandchildren left to go elsewhere after talking to the manager. Oh and I forgot the part where I stuck my fingers into spilled, messy, sticky creamers in the cup of flavored creamers. HORRIBLE. And they were telling people who were waiting to be seated that they were very busy and it would be ten minutes to be seated, but that was really because nobody was bussing tables. Every table in our section (including a round table that was empty and dirty when we got there) needed bussing (yes, all those people seated after us escaped first). We were here FOREVER, and they tried to keep us even longer than that, because I stood at the cash register for 12 minutes, with the cashier/to go woman looking me in the eye three different times, but never saying a word as she waltzed back and forth past the register. When manager boy finally came to the register, I handed him two gift cards. He handed BOTH cards back to me, with funds left on BOTH cards. Wouldn't you zero out one card, then go to the next? And last but not least, this is the first time in my life I have EVER intentionally refused to leave a tip for a waitress, and I am notorious for over-tipping. If she had kept her mouth shut and not kept throwing the kitchen under the bus, I might have at least have left...
Read moreThis specific location I say needs an evaluation of the kitchen staff. I came in at 10:00am only to leave at 1:30pm waiting on my food!! That is down right outrageous. My food got to me around 1:15PM.. I only ordered French toast, eggs and sausage/bacon. How in the world does it take that long? Not to mention the bacon was flimsy barely cooked and the sausage was PINK and undercooked. The French toast smelled like wet dog, and the only thing remotely edible was the scrambled eggs! The person I was with had pancakes that still looked like batter. I mean I have never in my life had food at a restaurant this bad.
The waiters and waitresses are amazing, continuously checked on tables and offered toast/biscuits etc for everyone due to the long wait. It was a shame to see them lined up at the window waiting to get the food for the tables only to get backlash and criticism from the kitchen when it’s completely their fault in the first place. My waitress specifically (will not name her) was criticized by kitchen staff for checking on the food-wait and she came back looking humiliated as she checked on my table and a few others. Unacceptable! When you have your team backing you up the best they can and trying to maintain customers, you should be THANKFUL that they’re saving you some time and not give backlash?? I get it if a person is overwhelmed but almost 3 HOURS for a simple meal is crazy. It was frustrating to also see whole families that came in later but was yet getting their food faster than those who had been here for over an hour. The kitchen really needs some help, that messes up the whole restaurant.
Outside the kitchen everyone moved with great pace, very timely, helpful and polite. It was a clean environment. I’m not sure if the manager knew what to do but he seemed a bit overwhelmed and exhausted going back and forth helping as much as he could in the lobby ( which is understandable due to the place being a full house. ) but he seemed to have no backbone or control over this issue. I’m not sure if the kitchen is understaffed or just has lazy workers but please improve on this matter so others won’t have this experience too.. As for me I will probably never come back to this specific location. This is exactly why I don’t eat out in public as...
Read moreI have never been so disappointed by an experience in every possible way. Firstly. The place was practically empty. Yet had plenty of staff. And we waited 20 mins before anyone bothered to ask if the group of 3 were there for pick up? Ummm nooooooo. Again as I have stated. There was 1 other table of 2 elderly people in the place. So we are taken to a table. That was dirty. We wiped it off ourself. Waited another 15 mins before we were asked if we wanted beverages......it gets better. We got drinks a total 30 mins after being seated. At which time we were asked if we knew what we wanted. We asked for a little time. Not an hour. However, that's how long we waited. At which time we placed the order. Food came. And we had to ask for silverware. AGAIN. Food came. It was wrong. None of the requests were even acknowledged. So we asked again. Very simple. A side of Sour cream, for an omelet. It still never came. Even as we were leaving and had to request to go boxes for the third time. And even had to ask our own server if we could pay and leave since we had to wait there at the check out for 30 mins to pay for our food. If I were the person who lacked in integrity or any sense of morality. I would have not had a second thought about paying a 60$ bill. And here is the best part. We decided to order desert. 2 pieces of pie. 5$ each.....and with an attitude and a scoff as if we were an inconvenience and our meager existence was in some way troublesome to his highness. The server "David" presented us with a single half piece. That was spitefully separated in half roughly across the width of the already small piece of pie. Leaving an oddly short and rounded square in one to go box. And a litteral spoons worth of a tip in the other. At which point instead of raising hell and going off on the rude and entitled server.....who even expressly "reminded" us to tip....I decided to write this review. And hope that this place is avoided. As the management that runs it was nowhere to be seen. Let alone held accountable. Sadly a tragic ending to a restaurant that I have loved for over 20 years. And will never spend any of my money...
