My wife and I drove two hours to pick up an airplane that was in stock at the Columbus store. We wanted to support somewhat our local (instate) suppliers as they are fighting to stay in business and competing with the internet. I called to make sure the plane was actually in stock before driving two hours. I was treated with great customer service from a young man named Justin. He went above and beyond on the phone in making sure they had what I actually was calling about and made sure what I was seeking was in stock. Upon our arrival at the store, the plane was sitting behind the counter with my name on it. I used a gift card that I had a previous balance on, cash, and finished my purchase with any debit card. All these transactions needed approval my ""Ms Janice"...Talk about customer service and making a customer feel at home, WOW! She went above and beyond in making sure we were treated with respect, dignity, and satisfaction. I told my wife when we left that you don't find people and stores like that anymore. The store has to be complemented on its indoor appearance, cleanliness, and set up with the two race courses inside as well the archery center to offset the hobby center. Met the owner and had a great conversation with him as well and we were appreciated for driving a long distance instead of just ordering off the internet. My final review is to say that if you are in Georgia or Alabama, Hobbytown Columbus is a great place and people to do your hobby or outdoor hobby buying. I also hope this review may encourage those who are looking into a hobby to make a trip and least speak with the staff their in helping with your interest or curiosity...

Read moreThis place is awesome. Period. The ownership is %100 invested in it's people and it's customers. They are a family and they treat you like family. The pictures posted are from an event they host for their customers where they invite them to come at least once a month and build their models. They feed the group pizza and hold drawings for prizes. They also have an indoor RC race track. I see so often complaints about how "high" they are. If you think you can get what they are selling cheaper elsewhere at least talk to them before you do. You might be surprised or there might be a reason their product costs more. You also have to remember, they HAVE to charge sales tax. They HAVE to pay for light and water and employees and did I mention they host get togethers and have a RACE...
