I hesitated to post this, but I have unfortunately decided that I will no longer be shopping at this location. I visited recently to purchase a few items, and once again, I was followed throughout the store, especially in the makeup, skincare, and jewelry sections. I was not greeted or offered assistance. I was simply followed, which made me feel extremely uncomfortable.
The woman working in the jewelry department was cold and unwelcoming. When I got to the register, she did not acknowledge me, avoided eye contact, and dropped my items while scanning them. She also did not allow me to enter my phone number to receive points, only to receive the receipt. To make matters worse, she left the security tag on my items, causing the alarm to go off when I exited.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time I have experienced this. It has been a recurring pattern over the years. The lack of professionalism and the ongoing assumptions of theft are mentally and emotionally exhausting.
When I came back to return the items and calmly express my concerns, the same employee ran from the counter. Other staff members called for her to return, but she hid in the back room. It is unacceptable to embarrass a customer publicly and then avoid accountability.
This used to be one of my favorite stores, but I am tired of being followed and treated with suspicion over items that cost less than twenty dollars. It is simply not worth it anymore.
I truly hope this location reflects on this feedback and does better moving forward.
Sincerely, A former...
Read moreVery unprofessional people work here. Today I went in with my boyfriend and mother. My mom is trying to get into makeup and we decided to come here so she could get good brands for cheaper. I’m into makeup and do it often so I was telling her what brands where good and was helping her choose products. However I noticed a lady stand at the end of the isle watching my mother as she went through the makeup. Me and my boyfriend thought it was very weird and uncomfortable so we walked off. As we were leaving I heard her call her for another employee to enter the makeup section to help her watch my mother. And then I heard her say something to my mother about her she can’t try on the makeup WHICH SHE WAS NOT DOING. After that I went and informed my mother that the lady had been eyeing her every move and that we should get what we want and leave. However then she started following me and my boyfriend around the store. We walked to multiple sections and noticed her behind us talking on her headset about us. Me and my boyfriend decided to put our things done along with my mother and then I spoke to the manager who also seemed like she could care less. I will be back up there to ask for all their names and for cooperates number. And just to note I worked for homegoods which is apart of their company and they are not allowed to do that. Sucky business and we will not be...
Read moreI was in Columbus with a friend and she said let's stop at The J Maxx. Personally I never liked this type of store because they usually tend to be junky. Assumptions will make a donkey of you because this store kicked off a major shopping spree for me that weekend.
First department I went to was handbags. I was looking good for a Michael Kors bag but got distracted when I found a leather backpack/purse. And it was the right price. Moving along I perused the bath and body section. Found this marvelous charcoal detox body wash. It has been my best friend.
I had to use the rest room so I headed in that direction. They were located right next to some home clearance. Cha Ching!!!! I scooped up drinking glasses for $4.50, chrome shower hooks, a T Fal frying pan for $10, and a shower liner. I was super super happy at this point because my list for necessities had been knocked down.
Love the store and will visit my own very soon. Would recommend this location gladly. Dirt cheap and quality high end items. What...
