Compton City Hall — Local services in Compton

This is a disaster city , building and safety especially are fare away from been efficient... going to Compton is like going back to Mediaeval time . So sad because the people really are looking for Developments and new construction, unfortunately the construction is been controlled by only one person ..... a inspector by the name VIC or Victor ..... a total disaster. 1- Always late... never start in time , if the counter open at 8 am , he will be at the desk by 8:30. 2- he think everything and everyone is a crook . 3 - to get any kind small permit ( even like a stacco , or electrical permit ) , it can takes between 4 to 5 h 4- for new ADU or new construction ( forget about it ) The processor is just insane. They MUST GET new building ENGEENERING . Inspector...

Friendly service by the employees that received me. Since the pandemic, all visitors are required to facr wear masks and take their temperature.

However, since not more than one visitor is allowed per party and we are required to wait outside until our name is called, waiting can take up to 60 minutes or longer! What the City of Compton should do is allow the public to make online appointments to avoid the wait for customers and minimal chaos at the front desk for the employees. Also, it would be great if they allow online credit card payments in all departments with a minimal or no...

Their process is a joke. They want to charge you for a license that only one other city(Carson, another joke) requires in all of the LA basin, but don't want spend funds to streamline the process. They have an online setup that doesn't function. Can't take my money online or over the phone, but want me to go in, only to tell me come back in 2 hours...SMH...mind you we're in a Pandemic. Greeting lady was very nice and helpful, staff is good if you go in there ready, if not good luck. For same day service make sure you're there at first hour. I was in and out in 2 hours the next...
