Read moreThere is a great cafe with choices of coffees, lattes, cappuccino, teas and other beverages. The bookstore itself is our local shop that we all want to support but sometimes more easily just order the book on Amazon. Then we remember we need to support our local bookstore! And we in the Concord area are fortunate to you have Gibson's. If you are traveling from the north or south it's a convenient stop off of I-93 and while parking at peak hours can be difficult, if you are doing it on a Sunday afternoon, between 11am and 4pm you should always be able to find a spot. You can stop for coffee and sit in the cafe. Or you go into the bookshop and browse local authors or find your favorite author and get his or her latest book. If you are local or on a week's vacation nearby, you can also go in the evening to special events. I plan to go to one this Wednesday evening. My pastor is talking about her recently published book, and Gibson's has many of these meet the authors and other speakers in the evenings that are always engaging and worth going out to on a Wednesday evening, even after a long...
Read moreThis is one of the most insensitive bookstores I have every been to. I walked into the store and found a bottle of hand sanitizer with the title plastered across the top that said, "OCD Hand Sanitizer". I have OCD myself and found this product very insensitive, for the Gibson's Bookstore to think that selling that product is okay, is extremely offensive. By making fun of a very serious mental illness you have shown your customers that people who have OCD are to be made fun of, and to be joked at. Is living with such a debilitating condition really that hilarious? Is being trapped in a world of your worst fears really that funny? Would you make fun of depression, what about autism, or what about bi-polar? Because apparently mental illness is so hilarious to you, Gibson's Bookstore. I also hate your café, boring, ugly, and disappointing. What ashame, this place could've been something other than a sickening place to laugh at...
