Horrible experience. If I could give a zero I would. I had a spider bite that was very concerning and everyone was telling me it looked like a brown recluse bite. So against my better judgement and not wanting to drive a half hour away, I decided to go to highlands, which turned out to be a big mistake as I am young and was by myself. I was kinda scared so they pretty much tried to steamroll me. The staff was rude and the doctor was condescending, he spoke to me as if I had no business being there as if my service does not make their paychecks. The doctor was also very rude and rolled his eyes at me several times within the 2 minutes he spent with me and basically told me that since I’ve waited 2 days already there was nothing to worry about. I could hear the staff talking badly about other patients and even talking to another gentleman that was in immense pain as if he was being dramatic which either way, they are taught to treat the patients accordingly to their complaints however they don’t. They treat people as if they are beneath them. Nobody has a smile or good attitude, everyone is miserable and ignorant. Don’t waste your time going to this hospital. They are incompetent. I feel I should also mention the experience my mother and father had with my baby brother. He had a gash above his brow bone that they thought might need stitches. The very much older doctor that was there that day decided he was going to use glue but did such a poor job at it that he glued my baby brothers entire eye shut. The staff and doctor instantly looked worried and started scrambling around for something that could fix it. In the end he needed to see an eye specialist and almost had to have a sedated surgery to have the glue clear from his eye. THIS PLACE...
Read moreHorrible experience. Brought my one year old daughter in with a severe allergic reaction. We were on vacation and did not know the area so we had to rush to a hospital that was close to us (25-30 min drive). Unfortunately it was this place. If I could give this place a 0 here I would. I can't believe I am giving them a 1. Miserable staff. They administered the wrong meds to her at first and then discharged us. While in the parking lot, my wife noticed my daughter's allergic reaction had now spread to her stomach. We hurriedly had to check back in to the ER (I am still somehow getting bills from the 2nd visit which was their fault) and this time I pretty much had my sister who is a real doctor at UPMC call the shots. What a group they have down in Connellsville. I don't know why places like this employ people who are not happy to be serving the public here. A miserable experience that somehow came with two separate bills totaling almost $1,100 despite our great health carrier UPMC. I hope this place is upgraded one day for the sake of the community. I remember every face we dealt with that morning. I am seething right now and thinking of filing an official complaint. I do not wish the experience we had at Highlands Hospital on ANYONE. Miserable fatigued staff with horrible people skills. And on top of it, doctor/nurses who make the wrong call! Thankfully we all came out of here alive. This place should be evaluated from top to bottom. One of the worst experiences of my life and definitely the worst I have had...
Read moreThis place needs shut down or restaffed! I have sever anxiety disorder. So to tell me while I'm in the middle of a massive attack that I'm a bad mother ! You people are sick! The nurses have 0 bedside manner they are rude disrespectful and ignorant. I have 4 children and I just lost my son February 2023 and had to have a historectomy so my hormones are on the roller coaster of hell. I was in such a bad panick attack that I couldn't open my hands and I could barley walk they called the police on me. Their psychological unit is just as bad if not worse. They ignore the patients there is no therapy they just fill u full of meds then send u out and don't give you half of the meds you were on . Dr.Bittner and Dr. whimer are pathetic when it come s to treating patients. Dr. Whimer refused to give antibiotics for a massive infection on my tooth. He refused Tylenol for the pain. Instead he shot me full of novacaine and I had an allergic reaction. Dr. Bittner literally told me to get tested for stds to determine if my anxiety is from having more then one partner! I'm married and I refuse to to be treated like this. All I can say is that God for the Dr's at Frick hospital they are amazing and so much kinder. They listen and understand. I WOULD' not even bring my dead animal to this hospital they are horrible !!!!!!! They need shut down or have new staff put in place !!! 0 stars is what...
