Total scam. As many others have said here, I also paid the $299 in 2021, received a few trash leads, and never heard anything again until they billed me in 2023. The agreement I signed said the $299 was a one time fee to register you to their network. It said it was one time in seven different spots in the contract but my credit card company said the clause saying our agreement renews on an annual basis makes it look like the charge could be perceived as an annual charge so I needed to take it up with Regentology to get clarification, despite the fact that they didn't charge or provide any leads in 2022.
Their phone number doesn't work. My emails didn't bounce but nobody replied to them, and then they changed their website to state they did real estate investment in Pakistan and what appeared to be time shares in Florida. I looked up the "Realtor" contact information they had on some of their Florida listings because the photos actually didn't match the properties if you did a Google or Zillow search on the addresses. One beachfront home they had listed looked to be a parking garage on Google Maps. The "Realtor" contact information they had listed wasn't accurate so I even went so far as to do a license lookup in Florida and none of the agents they had listed even exist as licensees in that state. Total scam, totally illegal, and now their website is back to lead generation saying you need to fill it a form to cancel when the contract I assume all of us signed said you could terminate with just a simple email notice. The cancellation email address they say you need to send the form to bounces, so it's just blatant fraud. If you're reading this and had the same experience, go to the website and see for yourself if you think you need to fill out that cancellation form that never existed before, because my guess is the next step in the fraud is to claim we didn't fill out the correct form to prevent the $299 charge next year. Seems to me whoever is running this needs to...
Read moreThis company is an outright scam. They don't provide any leads, they changed the terms of their service agreement. I signed up in October of 2021, and today I was charged $299 out of the blue, I have not received a lead in over a year. When I signed up I was told I was paying a one-time fee of $299. 16 months later, with no leads in a year, I'm mysteriously billed another $299 with no permission given or invoice received from Regentology.
I paid the $299 through Stripe, I have the original receipts. The even weirder thing is that the second charge of $299 was to a debit card of mine that was different from the number I used to pay the sign-up fee from October 2021.
I am going to report them to whoever will listen.
I have an update on this scam. After talking to my bank what it seems like is happening is that Regentology signed me up as a recurring customer. Even though the contract I signed, which I have a copy of, states that the $299 is a one-time fee.
So, because they told my bank I signed an agreement with them as a recurring customer, and even though my card number changed since I first paid them in October of 2021, VISA gave them my new card number.
If you have used Regentology as a service provider, you must contact your bank and make sure that Regentology's ability to charge your account on a recurring basis has been revoked and then get a new card.
My next step is to contact NAR, I wonder if they even hold a real estate license for their "referral fees" I doubt it, but I am going to check, and if they do, all victims should file complaints, and let's get their license pulled from NAR.
They do not list their DRE number on...
Read moreHUGE scam that keeps on scamming. I authorized Regentology to charge me one time on 2/2/21. Fast forward to 6/16/23 and I find a bogus charge on my card for $299 - and it wasn't even the same card I initially used. The card I used intially was compromised so the bank let me know and sent another. Then I lost that one and it was replaced again!
I filed the fraud claim and cancelled my card. Come to find out after a week or so that it was Regentology, whose entire business structure is to charge agents ONE TIME and then offer to refund that one-time fee when you close a sale from one of their leads that they earn a commission from. The leads were absolute trash though and I chalked it up to another learning experience. Until now...
They had the audacity to dispute my claim and provided documentation from Stripe to "support" their claim that the $299 charge on 4/20/23 was from me. There is NO way I would authorize this company to take a single dollar, much less another $299 from me.
I wish I had reported them back in 2021, but honestly I'm just so used to broken promises in real estate lead generation that it really doesn't phase me anymore. This is outright theft though and I can't believe I could end up waiting another 2.5 months to get this resolved.
Run as fast as you can away from...
