Tysons Station — Local services in Tysons

I stopped in to check out the Trader Joe's market. I have never been inside one and wanted to get the TJ experience that I have heard so much about. This place was clean, bright, had beautiful flowers at the front door on sale which I could not pass up. Then walked around and found the wine section. Just getting into wines so it was very helpful that they had descriptions of the wines and the dishes they are best paired with. Once I went to check out, the cashiers were nice and friendly. I took clothes in to get cleaned and was told they would be ready by 5pm on a given day. Showed up at 5pm and they weren't ready. I ended up having to pick them up the next day on the way to the airport. Almost missed my flight. The two main problems with this dry cleaner is (a) they don't do their own dry cleaning; they ship it out, so they won't take responsibility for errors or mistakes, and (b) they don't speak English particularly well, so trying to explain complicated requests or discuss why you are upset that your dry cleaning isn't done on time or correctly is very difficult. In much the same way, this strip mall calls out to car drivers passing by with its great stores like Trader Joe's and Peets Coffee. However you will be ensnared in their horrible traffic pattern and have a tough time getting off the "island" that is Tyson's Station. Safe passage matey!
