+++++++Follow Up+++++++ 11-01-2023 As I mentioned I emailed the Ollie's HQ and the BBB. A Rep for Ollie's responded the same day and she was very considerate and helpful. She really worked with me on resolving this. I provided her with bank details to prove that the second charge was not pending but both charges had cleared. She really was impressive in helping and I very much appreciate everything she did. Ollie's in Cookeville did indeed charge my wife 2x's and the second charge was credited back today. They also informed the DM and will get additional training for the manager. The manager does not have the authority or ability to see credit card transactions of Ollie's. They have limited to accounting. So the manager should never have told my wife the things she did as she did not have the authority to do anything or ability so she did in fact use put off tactics. The checkout girl will also be asked about hitting the POS. It surprises me that in todays world of solid state technology people still smack computers thinking it will help, it will indeed make matters worse. I am grateful that I did email Ollie's HQ and the BBB, the matter was resolved quickly. I suggest that if you have issues with the local Ollie's store skip talking to the manager, they will only escalate the issue. Contact Ollie's HQ from their website and the BBB, but if you do have an issue with an employee, suggest additional training. Do not seek to get people fired.
Yesterday 10-30-2023 my wife was in there and made a purchase. The checkout person was having trouble with the register, her name was Summer, and she had to physically hit it. The result was that my wife's items were billed on our debit card 2 times. $21.94 showed up on our bank account two times as completed posted transactions. My wife called and spoke with the manager today 10-31-2023 and the manager gave her lip service and the typical run around.
So the manager did expose she has a limited understanding of how some transactions work. Nevertheless I contacted the corporate headquarters and filed a report on "SUMMER and the manager". All the manager has to do is look at the receipts from yesterday to see the double charge, she can then reverse one of them. However the manager may not be aware how to do that.
Just be aware that Ollie's of Cookeville is having trouble with their registers and POS system so much so that the check out people have to "hit" them and the manager is unwilling to correct errors that she can see on their daily receipts.
As I mentioned I filed a complaint with the HQ office and I hope they help the manager learn that she can check daily receipts to confirm.
Nevertheless this store has lost our business for theft from a customer and then the manager giving my wife the run around, lip service and outright lying to her.
Be careful with your money...
Read moreMy dearest friend had a physician's appointment in Cookeville and ask me to go along with him. We successfully completed the appointment and had lunch at Outback (which was yummy). Afterward my friend asked me to drive him to Ollie's to pick up a few items_ I had never been inside an Ollie's in my lifetime. I was in amazement upon entering the door to say the least. I assumed Ollie's was just another ordinary discount store but I was mistaken. I could have stayed inside this place for days and could never see everything. Name brand overflow and items of any and every kind_ Unbelievable. It was like I was in a magic maze of merchandise. I absolutely love Ollie's now and thanked my dearest friend for sharing his favorite store with me. Ollie's has any and everything one could ever dream of seeing. The prices are cut so low in Ollie's that I beg to question how much we overpay what we do in the regular stores. So many gougers in the regular stores in the most needful time in my history of being on this planet. I know retailers are struggling as well but Ollie's is a ray of hope with shopping now for me. I enjoyed my first visit immensely and hopefully it will not be my last. I just want to go there one day and spend the entire day browsing and shopping in Ollie's. Grateful for you Ollie's_ thanks for thinking about your guest's struggles too. I love Ollie's. Highly...

Ollie’s Bargain Outlet is one of those places where you truly never know what you’re going to find and that’s part of the charm. The store has a little bit of everything, from discounted home goods and books to snacks, tools, electronics, and random seasonal items. It’s a fun spot to visit every few months just to see what unexpected deals pop up.
While I do receive weekly emails advertising special promotions, locating those specific items in-store can be a bit of a challenge. More often than not, the items are either difficult to find or already sold out by the time you get there. The inventory is broad, but the layout doesn’t always make it easy to track things down.
Ollie’s has made some effort to organize departments more clearly, but if you’re anything like me, you’ll end up walking through nearly the whole store trying to find that one item you saw in the flyer—or just hoping to stumble upon something else interesting.
Overall, it’s not the place to go when you’re in a rush or need something specific, but it’s a great stop when you’re in the mood to browse, hunt for deals, and enjoy...
