I love Aldi! Their stores are clean. They have convenient restrooms. They have food items and also carry a variety of seasonal items for holidays, etc. Some foods and baking items are considered seasonal as well. If you've never been to an Aldi, go scout one out. Once you understand the seasonal item thing, you can plan accordingly. They don't carry very many common name brand items, however, we have found that their brands are just as good, and sometimes even better than name-brands. You may want to add extra items to their pizzas, but I do that to the name-brand pizzas too. And...the biggest reason I shop at Aldi is because of their prices. Aldi prices are usually about 1/3rd less than Walmart, and more than that, if you shop at Cub. For example, a 12 oz bag of Garden Salad (iceberg lettuce, red cabbage, carrots) today was 89 cents, sometimes it's only 69 cents...Walmart is $1.48 or $1.56 approximately. I eat a lot of salads, so it's a considerable savings for me. You do need to check over their fresh fruits and vegetables. Sometimes you will find that the produce needs to be used very soon. I wish I had an Aldi in my neighborhood, and one in Fairmont MN, as I go there quite often too. They have a double guarantee on their products too. They will replace a bad item, or if you don't like something, and then also refund your money...at least, that's the way it was. I haven't had to return anything for a long time. I do the majority of my shopping at Aldi. I only shop at Walmart or Cub if I absolutely need to. Give Aldi a few trys before passing any judgment. It took me a while to get oriented to their marketing strategies, but all's good now. Oh, and be sure to bring a quarter with you if you want to use a shopping cart. You get it back when you return it to the cart corral. And bring along your reusable grocery bags. They do not bag your groceries for you. You do it yourself. They do have bags you can buy for cheap, or they usually have some empty boxes you can get for no...
Read moreWhat happened to this place? After spending nearly an hour in the store, there was 12 of us standing up front waiting to get checked out. Not 1 worker was up front at any of the 5 registers. After 5-10 min of standing and waiting for someone to come up, an employee walked up to the front and she announced the next person in line can head over to register 2. My son and I headed to that register and started unloading our cart and as another employee came up front, they announced register 5 was now open. As we were standing and waiting for someone to ring us up, no one came and so I asked the lady who said register 2 was gonna be opened and she then replied with no, it’s register 5. And I continued and said you had told us register 2 and she agreed but apparently they changed their mind on what register they were gonna open and didn’t even bother to acknowledge us or tell us they could help us at that register, instead they had us standing there with all of our cart now unloaded on the belt without any acknowledgment from any employee. I have always came to this ALDI location but it’s been a while. Where did the good customer service go? I ended up leaving very disappointed and annoyed and decided I will no longer spend my money with a company who doesn’t appreciate its customers. I would much rather spend more money for better...
Read moreThis is a great grocery store for all your grocery needs. Everything is sourced locally so your not paying for the transportation fees. They typically only have one brand of any given item (unlike the 3+ brands you see at larger grocery stores).
This is a fabulous place to get your weekly grocery shopping done, get quality groceries, and save a bit on the weekly bill. There is no wait to get in the store and checkout time is minimal. When there is a long line there is usually an extra cashier that comes to help out.
A warning about fruit and vegetables: since their supply is sourced from local farmers they don't use as much preservatives. You have less chemicals on your fruits and veggies, but they don't stay fresh as long. I recommend only buying what you need for the next few days to a week to avoid them...
