The tavern is on the smaller side but customers keep piling in. The regulars are called out by name as soon as they walk in but if you're a new customer you're standing there lost and waiting. No signage or anyone to greet you.
After 10 min of waiting at the main entrance, the bar staff yells over to just find a seat.
Family of 6 heads out to the patio to find a couple of empty tables next to each other. A friendly customer sees us and welcomes us right away and says you can put the tables together. He could clearly tell we were first timers.
As soon as we grab our tables to move them, waitress says, "leave the table where they are, You can't move them together". We nod, smile and sit at separate tables. The customer says to us we do it all the time and says not sure what's wrong with her attitude. Another customer sees the kids struggling to put their umbrella up. She went over and tried to help set up the kids table umbrella but was unsuccessful. She sees another table that needed to be cleaned next to us. She goes and buss the table and cleans it out so our family can sit together. Once the table was cleaned the waitress walks over to collect the tip that was left on the table.
Menus and drinks were slow to come out. Once ordered, food came out quickly. Food was amazing. Some of the best food we've had.
The customers were friendly and welcoming. Atmosphere was amazing and the tavern was nice and clean.
Service was horrible. Slow to greet you. Slow to refill your water. Slow to check up on you. Slow to close you out.
Worst thing is, they ran out of cups. We had to wait until they had cups to serve us water and soda. When we needed a refill, they would collect our cups to refill and bring it back. But that's not the real issue, it's that she tries to carry all 6 cups at once. Sticking her fingers inside the cups to carry them to refill. It's 95 degrees in the blistering sun, you're sweety, running around and hands...
Read moreWe came here because a friend recommend it and because we like to support locally owned small business. When we first got there at close to 6PM, it wasn't as busy yet. The server was nice at first. We ordered chicken wings and food. We saw that there was chicken happy hour on Wednesday. After we ate, we had about 4 wings left. There was no disclaimer on the menu about how you cannot take your left over chicken wings home. If you do then they will charge you full price. We state to the server that there was no disclaimer or anything about it. She told us the rules are on the special board. The "board" was a little sandwich sign at the door that was easily missed. She wasn't so nice about this. She just gave us the option to either let her throw the food away or charge us full price. We asked more about the "policy" on it and she got mad and just took the wings. This was not good customer service for new customers.
Another note, when we were there and it started to get busy, I noticed the server wasn't around as much. I mean I did only see two servers, but anyways the services started to not be so good. I don't know if because they were more towards their "regular" customers or what. I'm not the one to say they are discriminating but could it be?
After we came home, I read the reviews and it appears that minorities or non-regulars don't have much good things to say about this restaurant. Could it be that it's the environment or the staff?
Note to the owner(s), if you want to be successful restaurant, please work on the policy disclaimer on happy hours items (put it on your menu and not on a small sandwich board), work on staff services, and how you treat minorities or non-regulars. I would not be coming back or recommend this...
Read moreThis has to be one of my most embarrassing moments. I just finished an appointment and had a 2 hour break I set up to watch the US play in the World Cup after getting approval one week prior that our party can watch the game with sound. Just to be clear, the server was professional and did an awesome job! the issue started when the lady Bri who identify herself as the manager came to the table with an attitude. I don’t drink and all I ordered was lemonade and wanted to enjoy a sporting event that happens every 4 years, She was belligerent and seemed intoxicated, started arguing with a few members of the party I was with while using profanity in a loud voice where little kids was present, refused to play the game sound after asking several times politely. We were yelled at to leave, As the manager brought our receipts, she insulted us how we supposedly treated the new waitress stirring up another round of arguments. As I was walking out, few members at the bar started to clap. This establishment was extremely disrespectful, unprofessional, and unpatriotic being a sports bar who accepted our reservation and request. Thank you CR sports bar down the street for knowing how to run a respectful sports venue/Establishment. I will never spend a single dime at this run down...
