I am writing this review to help people out shopping at Kohl's. I am a former associate of this store. Yes I know you are looking at this and are questioning on reading it because of how long this review is but READ THIS REVIEW. I am writing this review in regard to help customers and associates to all have a good experience. The first thing to know is that the store is understaffed all of the time. They do not like to have multiple associates in certain areas of the store at the same time. The shoe department will have one person for six to eight hours and the same will go for the home and kids department. If you can't find anyone no matter what department it is, you can ask any associate and they will be able to help you. Every associate should have a scanner on their hip and it will tell you the price and stock of the item that you are looking for. Second, the coupons that you receive for percentage off, there are exclusions on them. The big exclusions are Nike, Under Armour, Levi's, Columbia, Premium electronics, etc. Don't get upset that we can't take percentages off of these items and demand that it should be taken off. The associates have no control of this and just simply ask anyone in the store what can and can not work with that coupon. Third, the reason why the aisle are so cramped is due to being over stocked on items and not having enough floor space. It's the decision that the company had to make to either please customers with the wide variate of items or enough walking space to get around the store. Fourth topic is about the Kohl's Charge Cards. Yes, the question "Do you have a Kohl's Charge Card" is a dreaded question for everyone that goes into the store that doesn't have one or doesn't want one. I know the associates and even the managers will push this onto you to sign up. Associates are trained to ask 3 times even if you say no. A simple way to get out of this is to just say "I already have one but don't want to use it today". Helpful tip if you want a Charge Card, wait a couple of weeks and it will be back up to 30 percent off when signing up. The last thing that I am going to say is pretty basic. If you want a good experience in the store then treat the associates nicely. It irked me when I use to work for Kohl's that customers would not be nice to us if we didn't have their product that they were looking for. Retail gets negativity for when they are out of stock but when you go grocery shopping it's different. You don't ask the grocery store associate if the have a bigger size of cheerios in back or get upset if they are out. Do the same in any clothing store. Be nice to the associates and they will be nice back. Put back you items that you don't want in the right spot and you will make their day. We don't come into your house and drop trash and leave without picking it up. The simple rule that we are taught early in life "Treat other how you want to be treated" is real and will make everyone have a more positive experience. I hope this guide gives an understanding and helpful tips on what to do to have a good...
Read moreI visited Kohl’s and saw clear signage and large banners advertising the SAVE15 promotion. The signs specifically stated that no Kohl’s Capital One credit card was required to use the offer. I noticed the Jumping Beans toddler character tees were on sale for $8.99, marked down from the regular price of $9.99, and there was an additional 15% off with a coupon available at checkout by asking an associate.
When I approached the cashier to apply the SAVE15 promotion to my purchase, which included the Jumping Beans tee, biking shorts, and a Barbie tee, the associate told me I had to be a cardholder to use the promotion. I explained that the signage indicated no card was necessary, and I asked her to double-check. However, she repeatedly stated I needed to be a cardholder and didn’t acknowledge what I was saying or attempt to consult a manager or colleague for clarification.
This felt like a clear case of poor customer communication. It seemed the associate wasn’t trained properly or wasn’t willing to take the extra step to verify the promotion details. After researching further, I confirmed that SAVE15 is indeed valid for in-store or online use without requiring a Kohl’s card.
This situation was inconvenient and frustrating, as I feel my time was wasted due to a misunderstanding or lack of training. I plan to return to the store to have the purchase corrected and the 15% discount applied. Overall, the experience was disappointing and did not meet the standard of customer service I expect.
The reason I don't shop at Kohl's often is because it feels intimidating to ask cashiers for help with simple promotions. In my experience, they don’t show the effort or willingness to help, nor do they take the time to verify promotion details before processing orders. This lack of assistance makes the shopping experience frustrating and discouraging.
This may be my last time shopping at Kohl's due to the poor customer experience I encountered. I expect better service when shopping, and this experience has left me reconsidering returning.
The second reason I dont shop here is that the items are not competitively priced.

Read moreHorrible omni system they use for online orders. I ordered online. I happened to stop by to look for more gifts. I went inside to check if they had other stuff to buy and happened to go see how the items I ordered for pickup were like. I found that it was limited and they were super busy, so I wanted to help them out as well by grabbing it for them. So I grabbed all 3 items and brought it to the service desk to see if I could just pick up. They said no and I asked if not then what happens if they someone buys it and I already paid for them online? They said oh well, then they'll cancel it. I was not happy with their rude response. They need more staff and better training and a better system. By the way, the store was in chaotic mess, with the service desk piled high along the wall, full of clothes from one side to the other, almost touching the ceiling. Also, they canceled one of my items when they finally emailed me that my order was ready. Either they purposely canceled one item or someone did buy it after they made me leave it at the desk. I'm not happy at all because I as literally holding it in my hands. Only thing positive is the fact that Kohls allows you to take your Amazon returns to them and they take care of it all. I however, do not like that the Amazon return area is located in the back...
