Came to return an item without a receipt that I purchased 6 days ago. My husband and I patiently stood at to the counter where Jean and another coworker were standing behind the register talking to each other while looking at a cellphone, they continued to talk to each for at least 30 seconds without even looking in our direction. Finally the other employee walked away. We proceeded to place our box on the counter without Jean saying "hi" or even "how can I help you?" My husband explained that he didn't have the receipt, Jean then said she could only give us the lowest price that it rings up for within the last 90 days, didn't even ask if we even paid with a credit card. She was about to scan the item and start the return process, but I stopped her from scanning the item because I vaguely remember that there is a kiosk to print receipts if purchased with a card. I asked her if this is still an option. She then said that it was. After using the kiosk we came back to the counter with the receipt, I asked her if she would've just given us store credit for the lowest price (or at least see if there's a way to look up the purchase at her register like most other stores do). She tried to then tell us that's why she ASKED if we paid with a card - that's a complete lie as she was about to return the item giving us store credit for the lowest price within the last 3 months (this was an item that cost over $100 and we paid full price). So if you're wanting to be lied to, not be acknowledged, take store credit for possibly less than what you paid for - ask for Jean...
Read moreMy friend and I had a long list of things to get. This is a big Menards, so it was hard to find a lot of what we needed. We asked one associate. He told us he was on brake and walked away from us with another employee. After that, anyone we asked didn't know and wouldn't get anyone who did. Finally after 4 different people, we found someone to help us find what we needed. 3 more times after that we needed help with different things. No one would help us. We went to pick up the lumber and vinyl siding we needed. We couldn't find anything! There was an associate there, but he was not helpful at all. We'd be obviously confused and searching all over for it. We'd be very verbal about our confusion right in front of him, but he would just ignore us until we would ask him to help us. He then seemed to be annoyed. We didn't want to ask him because of this! The materials we needed were heavy and awkward. We had to pull them out and load them on the rack of the truck ourselves. Associates went by, but ignored the fact that we were two women struggling to get these materials up on a high rack of a big diesel truck ourselves. We had to get five different kinds of materials and they were all long, awkward and heavy! Still no one helped us! We hate...
Read moreThis review is in regards to the custom countertops only. Poor quality and terrible customer service. If you’re a homeowner and not very experienced with countertop installation then do not buy from Menards. Not DIY friendly at all. We ordered new custom high definition laminate countertops from Menards. We went over the design process with them in store. This is what we ended up with.
First off, the staff assisting with design are very inexperienced and not very knowledgeable when it comes to the whole process. They weren’t able to answer any questions regarding installation. The counters have an overhang on each side that extends past the base cabinet. They failed to account for our oven width and now the oven doesn’t fit. The counter tops will require heavy modifications to make them work.
Second, they are just poor quality. The laminate on the edges are already peeling up in two different places. You can see in the photos there’s a gap between the laminate and the wood so it wasn’t even glued on properly from the manufacturer.
We tried to save money by doing it ourselves, but it’s going to end up costing us more than if we were to just hire a professional in the first place. Since we’re going to have to hire someone to...
