My wife and I went to the new store to see what they had to offer. I needed a case of liquor as did my wife. There was a sign up indicating that all purchases were ten percent off. They only had three of the six bottles in stock for both cases so we agreed to purchase what they had and come back on Wednesday for the remainder of our order. We left the store and noticed that we only received three percent (the case discount) off of our order. I went back into the store to explain the error and was told the ten percent that was advertised was not applied to the cost. To my surprise I was told the ten percent was already applied and the sticker price was reflective of that. I've been purchasing my liquor for a very long time and know what the cost is. They lied. We have never gone back to Uptown in Cove and don't plan to. They either don't know what they are doing or were intentionally deceptive. Either way, not a store I want to do business with. Read moreWent today to buy a bottle of tequila. The price on the shelf showed $11.29. When I looked at the receipt, it just showed the total charged to my credit card $13.30, which was more than it should have been. When I questioned the cashier why the total was so high, he first stated he didn't know, but then he rang up another bottle, and sure enough it came up as $12.29. I pointed this out to the cashier and he stated that sometimes the system is updated without letting them know to update the prices on the shelves. Everywhere you go, the price on the shelve has to be honored, even if it is the wrong price, but here the cashier seemed to be astounded that I wanted a refund for the money I was overcharged. Yes it was only $1, but it was the principle. Than he has the audacity to say, that in the future the system price is the one they will go with. Well guess, you won't see me in...
Read moreIf you want to be overcharged for the same item that you can get at another liquor store in the same town this is the place to go they are advertised you a price and charge you another the price was $49.99 and I got charged 59.99 to to that off after I noticed I simply wanted them to honor the price that they advertised but was told by the manager was told by the manager he wouldn't give me a refund nor honor the price why would anybody want to deal with people like that when you can go to another local liquor store for better price. So the manager not only did not want to take care of the situation but told me to call corporate. Glad I don't live in a town that has false advertising and won't honor their prices. If it rungup $1.00 you can rest assured he would sell it for that price and would have made the...
