After reading some negative reviews, I wasnât willing to take my chances on this place. My mother-in-law convinced me to go with her to just look, as this is one of the only shops in the area that sells Maria Elena headpieces, and so I gave them a chance. Unfortunately, Chic Parisien lived up to their most negative reviews, and I terribly regret my decision.
I found a beautiful Maria Elena headpiece for my wedding and made a deposit to order it. Later on I discovered that the same item/color was available on the Maria Elena website for almost $300 less than what Chic Parisien was charging. I called the store and spoke to the saleswoman who had assisted us (Alana, I believe is her name). At first, she told me that I was looking at the Australian website, and that was the reason for the discrepancy in the price. When I assured her that I was looking at the US website and would order the item from there in order to get a better deal, she said she would absolutely match the price for me. I wanted to be fair to her, as she had helped us in the store and made the sale, so I agreed to have the price matched. I was told that the item would arrive at the end of January, and I would be notified when it had arrived at Chic Parisien.
Weeks went by, and by the end of February, I started to become concerned. I had not received any call or other communication from Chic Parisien about my headpiece. I contacted the shop and learned that my headpiece had come in and had been sitting there for weeks. No one notified me, which I found unprofessional and careless, but as long as I had what I needed for my wedding, I could look beyond that. I picked up and paid for the remaining balance of the headpiece.
It did not occur to me until afterwards that when I paid the remaining balance due for the headpiece, I was paying the original amount, which was higher than the price on the [US] website for Maria Elena. I called and emailed Alana, and she claimed that we had agreed that the store would provide me the difference in the form of a store credit, which I could use for earrings. We never agreed to this, as I didnât love any of the earrings they had to go with the headpiece. And what else would I do with a store credit to a bridal shop when my wedding was only a month away?
I contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge, but of course without having Alanaâs statement in writing, itâs a challenge to prove what she had originally promised.
I have not received any official store credit - no gift card, etc. - but based on what the store claims, I suppose I can go to Chic Parisien one of these days and buy some bridal pieces (although I am now married). Itâs very clear that Alana and the owner of Chic Parisien care about making sales and not providing basic customer service, or even common courtesy, to their clients. I can guess that if you spend enough here you will get treated a little better than I did, but I still advise brides to stay far away from...
Read moreThe worst bridal shop experience. I came in yesterday and the woman assigned to me could care less about me and my guest. She threw us in the room, acted in a rush, and had an aggressive vibe. She even introduced herself by leaving the room saying âIâm __ by the wayâ with out even looking back and just closed the door. She was throwing me in and out of dresses so fast you could tell she was not having it within the first 10min of the appointment. At this point me and my sister were so uncomfortable and wanted to leave. We even started joking about how scared we were of her. The worst part is.. when she was zipping down my dress she yanked it down so fast I got cut and eventually started BLEEDING and bruised. idk if her rings scratched my skin or it was the zipper but nonetheless. Instantly her personality changed to what it shouldâve been from the start. I thought it was because she was tired and wanted to go home but my sister thinks itâs because we told them my budget was lower which makes sense because the other low reviews was when budget was low and they got treated poorly. Donât be in the wedding industry finding people dream dresses if youâre going to judge them on their budget especially when you have plenty dresses in that range. Letâs not forget I couldnât even talk to her to tell her how I felt because she stepped out the last 15/20min to take a phone call. Left us in the room just standing there with a wedding gown on. Some other lady came in just to end the appointment with the same demeanor, taking the dresses out of the room, having the door wide open in the middle of me changing?? It wasnât until I looked back with a face of shock that she noticed and came and closed it right away. let me mention another third lady that was standing outside the door talking and making jokes with woman assigned to me while I was there, the woman assigned to me told her multiple times she was with a client but the lady continued to blabber. Extremely laughable that these older women had such lack of regard and unprofessionalism. Mind you Iâm 25 and by no means a Karen, this was just THAT bad. Iâve had this google account for a decade and I donât think Iâve ever left a bad review before this.
If the zipper thing had happened without how she was acting before Iâd say it was a simple mistake but no, totally avoidable if she wasnât unmindful and aggressive. Unprofessional, rude, and...
Read moreI purchased a Leah da Gloria dress in January 2024. Initially, everyone was nice especially because according to them the dress I wanted to try on was not in their store so they had it shipped over for me to try. I was so grateful, until I realized they expected me to purchase the dress since they worked so hard to have it delivered for me to try on and when I said I have to think about it I received major major attitude and lash back. I felt so awkward. I ended up purchasing it and I informed them as well as the company several times that I want more full cup coverage. I sent pictures of how much I want coverage to be, and they said no problem (both the designer and the chic parisien). Mind you, I paid over 10k and they took my measurements so I expected a dress that would fit overall well upon delivery.
6 months later I pick up my dress, and as soon as I put it on in the store itâs INSANELY BIG on the waist (3 inches too big) and the cup WAY too small (Iâm DD and the cup was a size A). Additionally there was no additional coverage as discussed. Somehow it was actually less coverage. They instantly clipped my dress tight to my body and added fabric with pins around the breast to give me a âvisionâ of how itâll fit. My chest was falling out and their response is thatâs how itâs suppose to be.
For the cost of the dress and how long it took to make it, the least they couldâve done is put the appropriate cup sizes. Mind you, according to my receipt the dress had âopening up cup sizeâ as itemized list.
The options they gave me was to send it back to Australia to the designer or fix it in house for $2,000. Unfortunately I couldnât send it to Australia that because my wedding was coming up and they take too long & 2k is straight up stealing. So I had to pay someone else to take apart the dress and put it back together to fit my body even though I paid for custom sizing. This caused me severe severe anxiety and stress. Both chic Parisian and Leah da Gloria failed me miserably and it cost me heavily to fix their mistakes. Only benefit is when I tried on the dress the people were nice (as they should be). They shouldâve covered the cost of me having to pay someone else to address their companies error in communication and sizing. All they did was give me fabric that didnât even match properly which doesnât even address how it 5...
