This was my second visit to see this doctor and staff. My first visit went very well and had an intern that took his time to review my concerns. I did not feel rushed or that I was just another patient stopping by. That intern methodically went over the examination, even taking a light on areas of concern. Spent a few extra minutes explaining things, making sure I was educated on the process.
This last visit was completely different. My intern asked me what the visit was for, never even looked at my chart to review prior notes. Then rushed through the process, but caught a few things of concern that were not mentioned in the last exam the prior year. At one point in his examination had to mention that my ear was being pulled by him in an uncomfortable manner and felt that I was back in eighth grade again being corrected by my teacher. Even when I had a few questions regarding the medication I was given the prior year, I was getting a quick response while being walked out of the exam room. I must have been out of the office in fifteen minutes, which is fine by me but take a few to cover any concerns. I will be back since Dr. Kerdel seems to be a very good doctor, but hopefully don't get the last intern again. If so may have to look into another...
Read moreSo, I’m still going through my TSW and steroid induced rosacea journey. These doctors have been exceptional and helpful and will listen to your every need and complaint. Sometimes I feel the dr is a bit too quick and it leaves me a little anxious to get it all out at once- if he could slow down a little bit more that’d be perfect- it’s the only semi negative thing I have to say. 5/5 I recommend everyone go to him, I’ve gotten a huge chunk of my life back.
——————— EDIT:
It has been over one full year since my TSW started. Oh my god. I have my life back. Dr. Kerdel along with his physicians have made my life almost 100% normal. I attached photos of the before and after. I go out now, I wear makeup, I can be outside! He has improved my quality of life to the maximum and I will never ever ever ever be able to repay that kindness. When I tell you I went from being essentially couch and bed bound to me going out on hot days, sweating, and living a full life, it is leaps and bounds from how I came into his office. Thank you to the team at Florida Academic Dermatology Center for giving me...
Read more300 dollars out of pocket to wait around for roughly 40 minutes, speak to a resident who was nice enough for 15 minutes and then speak to Dr. Kerdel for 2 minutes tops who really did nothing beyond make generalizing statements before rushing back out the door with his residents in tow. These people put much more effort towards the end of my visit in trying to get a follow up appointment scheduled. Getting extra information out of the doctor was like pulling teeth. Between his unnerving gaze and abrupt manner of speaking while making assumptions based on what the initial resident relayed to him without asking me anything I found his bedside manner to be extremely lacking. There’s more I could add but I find myself at a loss for words after what I can only describe as a very dehumanizing experience. It’s not that the front desk staff weren’t adequately pleasant or anyone was rude to me I’m just taken aback by how dismissive and rushed the doctor visit was. Going to see a dermatologist was a big step for me and to say I’m disappointed after my visit would be an...
