Farmer's Daughter Corolla — Local services in Corolla

Super disappointing experience here from the owner/employee here on our last trip. We always make a point to stop here on vacation (usually in different towns) but we were passing and decided to hit this one. My boy (6) had an empty ice cream dish that he was finishing and the sign on the door clearly read no food or drink inside which I respect and understand. However no garbage can was provided outside so he finished quickly outside and I asked the lady behind counter if she could throw it away. She gladly accepted with a smile and took the bowl...it was then that an older lady that I'm guessing was in charge yelled over to her .."No No we can't take any garbage like that because of the bug problem. Take it to the gas station next door." So although frustrated I went out with it and looked around the corner and the garbage for the gas station was a good walk away. So here is the point...if you have a rule simply provide a way for people to comply with it. Its a simple fix, and should not become the neighboring business's problem to handle for you. My wife still bought a shirt but I rounded up the kids and we went outside. Did not feel welcome or willing to spend any more time there after that unfortunate...

During my stay a Corolla, I had my two children, ages three and one and a half, with me everywhere I went. We shopped at Timbuck 2, and multiple other places in Duck and Kitty Hawk. The only way I survive with them is using my wonderful wagon stroller. I was disappointed and utterly shocked whenever I walked into the Farmer’s daughter, in Corolla, and I began my shopping. I was approached by a shop worker, and basically told I couldn’t be accommodated because of my stroller not being able to get through. She asked for me to leave it outside, and then I could come back in. Um,yeah, not really going to happen with me and two toddlers. I am saddened, because if they cannot accommodate my 21 in wide stroller, they certainly cannot accommodate a standard 26 inch wheelchair. So much for buying some nice clothing while here! I also should mention that I had already begun shopping, and had 4+ items in my hands. I tried to hand them to her so I could leave, and she just...

Very rude front desk lady. I tried to ring the bell for assistance at the check out because we had been standing there and no one came. I rang the bell and she came up and said “can you not in” very rudely. I asked what she had said and she told me “ I was standing right here, you didn’t need to ring the bell.” If she was standing right there, than why didn’t she see us standing at the check out for so long. I just looked in shock how rude and unprofessional someone could be to a customer. I simply just walked out the store and was very upset of how she acted!
