I have mixed feelings about this Walgreens. The staff are always helpful and friendly. From my perspective they are understaffed in the Pharmacy, especially now, during Covid. You can see them running around working as best they can ( without getting frustrated) trying to deal with so many customers, trying to get them in and out quickly but the employees behind the counter have so much more the deal with as not only do they have to deal with the customers prescriptions to filling and questions, to drive-thru and counter then having to stop to run out and deal with the customers in a differently line for the Covid testing and vaccines. They should definitely have at least a few extra staff members to deal with how crazy busy they seem to be, especially during their peak times. i usually use the drive-thru but if you come inside you can see them running around having to be two places at one but unfortunately they seem to extremely overworked and understaffed. Which If they were able to have a few more staff members on i think things would definitely run so much smoother and they would be able to deal with customers more efficiently, but like most places, they only have a set amount of employees at one given time from what management/ the higher-ups. You can see both parties are already very frustrated, as the line of customers seems to be backing up. They would have alot more happy customers who receive a little more quicker service and not put so much more stress on there already overworked and understaffed Pharmacy employees. I definitely feel for their staff as I've had jobs in the past where this exact same thing happens and their turn around for their employees is just ridiculous. I wish corporate could see that this situation is just not working and they would allow more staff to be working in the Pharmacy, as the population of Cottage Grove keeps increasing. This just would...
Read moreUnfortunately, we will not be using this Walgreens pharmacy again. My mother and myself have used this Walgreens for years, and the lack of follow-through has caused serious issues. My mother called the pharmacy for her dogs prescription this past Thursday (this medication is for severe separation anxiety and dementia). Due to prior issues of refill times that my mother has had at Walgreens, she thought 4 days would be plenty of time to get it refilled, as there was one refill left. Not one time did anyone call her the 4 days she waited. I decided to stop and pick up this medication for her and was told that the animal hospital (which I just so happen to work at as a CVT) cancelled her prescription. Said animal hospital has never cancelled a prescription that has refills available; that is just not done. So, I left and had my mother call today to get a new prescription filled by said animal hospital, which was done. My mother called Walgreens again and they said that there was an error on the prescription, which my mother called and had that fixed. 30 minutes after the animal hospital closed, she called Walgreens again to make sure it had gotten filled. She was then told that the DEA number was expired and that is why it hadn’t been filled 5 days ago. If my mother had been told that at the very beginning, that would have been resolved. Or heaven forbid, they call the animal hospital themselves to obtain the new information for the DEA number. To say I am frustrated and embarrassed as a medical professional is an understatement. The excuses I was given by the pharmacist was that she was stressed and overwhelmed. I understand her stress entirely, but the lack of care and follow-through by Walgreens pharmacy has greatly affected my mothers dog and her health. I will be calling to speak with a supervisor to make sure this does not happen to...
Read moreI would leave zero stars if I could. The experience my daughter and I had last night when we went to get her vaccinated for COVID-19 was unnacceptable.
I set up the appointment for her vaccination last week. When we arrived last night, I showed her insurance card. It wasn't the right card. Because this is a pharmacy they require the Rx card for health insurance. My daughter was turned away because I didn't have that information available.
First, this is absurd. The vaccine is FREE. There is no need to gather insurance information. I have spoken to several individuals who got their vaccine at CVS. They were not required to show any insurance information to get vaccinated.
Second, although the pharmacy clerk was trying to be helpful she kept us waiting for 15 minutes. I understand she was looking for the insurance information but there was a line of at least 5 people behind us getting impatient. During the wait she said nothing about whether or not my daughter would be able to get the vaccine.
Third, my ex-husband has used the same insurance card to fill prescriptions at this location. He has never had to produce an Rx card for these prescriptions.
Now I have to try to get another appointment at a different location. The whole situation was ridiculous. There is no reason my daughter should have been turned away for the COVID-19 vaccine.
I will not be shopping at this Walgreens or any other Walgreens...
